Hello! My name is Omar, and I'm a recent graduate of Albion College with a double major in Physics and Computer Science. I've always been someone who loves understanding how things workwhether it's the motion of particles, the logic behind algorithms, or the behavior of complex systems. I have a great passion for physics, mathematics, and computer science and an even greater passion for passing that on. I've had the opportunity to teach and mentor students in many different settings: Physics Department Tutor at Albion College: I spent a year tutoring physics students through the department and the broader campus community, helping with everything from introductory mechanics to advanced problem-solving techniques. Teaching Assistant for a Robotics Course: I served as a TA for a robotics class, guiding students through programming, mechanical design, debugging, and hands-on lab work. Innovate Albion Robotics Mentor: I volunteer with a middle school robotics team, helping them design robots, troubleshoot code, and learn engineering fundamentals. Math Tutor at a Local Alternative High School: I work with students who struggle with foundational math skills, focusing on building confidence and developing problem-solving habits.

I graduated cum laude with a bachelor's in biochemistry, and have privately tutored for the MCAT, biology, chemistry, and physiology for 4 years. I have helped over 100 students improve their grades, and increased MCAT scores by at least 5-10 points. After covering medical courses in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, and genetics, I feel confident tutoring those subjects at an undergraduate level, especially for students looking towards a career in the medical field. My experience in medical school gave me a deep understanding of core science subjects. There's so many different ways to learn the same material, and it's my mission to find the way that clicks for each individual. During my experience as a private tutor, I have honed my ability to customize study plans with my students, to fit their needs. For many of my students, I will go through individual questions, and break it down step by step until they feel confident in the material. Furthermore, for exam prep, I also teach and reinforce test taking strategy. My MCAT score was a 37 which corresponds to the 98th percentile. I make sure to review new materials and keep up with changes to help students with the upcoming cycle. As someone who's been through the application process, I know it is rigorous, but not insurmountable. Feel free to contact me for lessons, homework help, or exam preparation, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. My schedule is flexible, especially online, and I am ready to help meet your goals.
I am eager to meet you! I have experience teaching and tutoring both English as a Second Language (ESL) and Language Arts. I also received 5s on both of the English Language and English Literature AP tests. In my free time I like to paint, draw, read and work out. I also love trying new foods at local restaurants. I hope that we can connect and work out a time to tutor!

I firmly believe that students should be provided with opportunities to achieve success every class. Materials should be organized as much as possible to accommodate diverse learning dispositions, so I try to vary my teaching methodology according to the needs of my students.
