As an English/Literature and History tutor, I strive to provide my students with the skills to truly understand the subject material, as well as the confidence level and understand to tackle the most difficult of questions with ease. My favorite subject to tutor is writing. I find that a large portion of students struggle with feeling that they aren't very skilled at writing. I firmly believe that is untrue, and that everyone has their own unique style and skillset to bring to the table. My goal is to discover that style, and make sure they have fun doing it.

Howdy! I'm Wade. I am a recent graduate from Yale University with a degree in physics. I am fairly new to online tutoring and am excited to start! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at anytime. I hope to meet you soon!

My teaching philosophy centers on breaking down difficult concepts into more accessible and digestible forms of knowledge. I believe in tailoring my approach to meet each student's unique needs, utilizing creative methods to enhance understanding and retention. My dedication to helping students succeed is reflected in their improved confidence and performance. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring different cultures through music and language, which enriches my teaching and connects me with my students on a personal level.

Recent Yale graduate with a simultaneous B.S./M.S. in Mathematics. I have been coaching and tutoring students for years. Throughout high school I volunteered as a Mathcounts coach at my local middle school. I also worked as a counselor at the Ross Mathematics Program. I love math and science and hope to inspire the same in my students regardless of their level.
I am a graduate of Yale University, where I majored in Global Affairs. After graduation, I spent one year at a liberal arts college in Singapore, where I worked in the writing center and mentored students extensively in academic writing. Since then, I have been traveling, while continuing to tutor writing skills online. I emphasize learning how to write a clear, organized, and persuasive argument supported by solid evidence. In addition, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one with academic subjects and test prep. I enjoy helping my students discover the patterns behind the problems in standardized tests, especially in the SAT and LSAT. I believe in a personalized approach, and I love seeing students gain mastery and understanding of these skills. Next Fall I will be attending law school.
I am currently a first-year Master's student at the Yale School of Public Health. I received my Bachelor's in biology at UCLA. As a Californian, I enjoy sunny weather and eating avocados.Previously, I have taught math and computer skills to students (grades 3-5) in after-school programs. I also taught English conversation skills to English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Teaching is a big passion of mine because I derive a lot of joy from seeing my students overcome their struggles. My tutoring subjects include test prep (SAT, GRE), algebra, geometry, biology, and chemistry.
Hi! I'm an undergraduate student at Yale University, with a prospective double major in Mathematics and History. I strive to bring students toward their lightbulb moments not by repeating facts until they're drilled in, but by helping my students understand precisely why the laws of science, the rules of grammar, and the events of history are the way they are, and by lifting the curtain on the intricacies of the subject matter. I believe that learning is, and ought to be, for its own sake.Math and philosophy, and their nuanced interactions, are my great passions. I've run more 5ks and 10ks than I can count, but the validation of completing a long race is nothing like the satisfying moment of writing "Q.E.D." on a difficult proof. I'm a scholar of the Western canon, greatly influenced by great thinkers and writers of the past such as Plato, Virgil, Aquinas, and Anselm. I love to read and to discuss what I've read, and I heartily appreciate a good philosophical argument. Extracurricularly, I write musicals, one of which premiered at Yale last year, and attend Yale Political Union meetings to debate the pros and cons of various fiscal and social policies until the crack of dawn.
Eight years ago, I founded a reading and writing enrichment program for students in my hometown and quickly fell in love with the tutoring experience. Helping students reach their full potential -- and beyond -- is deeply rewarding, and I enjoyed getting to know my students and developing individualized plans to maximize their strengths.Since then, I've tutored high school and college students both in person and online in subjects like academic writing, English and literature, and standardized test prep. And while reading and writing are my specialties, I've also tutored extensively in Spanish, logic, philosophy, psychology, political science, and more.In addition to my academic tutoring work, I'm passionate about guiding high schoolers through the college application process. The admissions process is probably one of the most confusing, anxiety-inducing experiences you'll have in high school, but I'm full of ideas for making the entire process as successful and stress-free as possible. I've successfully guided many students through every stage of admissions -- from figuring out where to apply and then staying organized and on-track, to "packaging" themselves and producing a perfect personal statement -- and I love witnessing them achieve their admissions dreams.
I have a lot of teaching experience in both high-school and college settings, in the United States and abroad. I cover subjects ranging from ESOL, German, literature, and essay writing to most of the humanities topics that arise in AP and IB courses.
I am a proud graduate of three top universities: Yale, Stanford, and UC Berkeley. My degrees include a Masters in Teaching from the Stanford University Teacher Education Program. I am a credentialed and experienced teacher in English Language Arts, and US and World History. I have taught at both the middle and high school level in schools that served students from low-income and immigrant backgrounds, many of whom were English Language Learners. At the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley, I had fun developing literacy-focused, project-based, middle school science curriculum in Life, Physical and Earth Sciences. I particularly loved being a volunteer tutor to high school students from East Oakland, CA. I worked with them to become college ready by developing study skills and preparing rigorously to take standardized tests. In addition to tutoring them, I mentored them to develop small business projects and seek funding from entrepreneurs in the California Bay Area. I have a particular passion and knack for helping students write college admissions essays.I am a caring teacher and tutor who is dedicated to instilling a love of learning while ensuring youth make major academic advancements and have strong study skills.I have traveled extensively and volunteered with reforestation programs in Guatemala. In my spare time, I love hiking, playing the ukulele, and reading with my cat Lola on my lap.
I am a freshman at Yale University. I am majoring in computer science, and my other interests include economics and history. I have experience tutoring in an Algebra 1 classroom. I edited essays and tutored students in general subject in my high school's Literacy Resource Center. I also have privately tutored calculus. In college, I am a teaching assistant for a program that teaches middle and high school girls to code.
I've been tutoring since I was in high school. I started by tutoring French and teaching flute to younger students. I realized how much fun it is to teach and continued tutoring when I was in college. I tutored my fellow students in Mandarin Chinese, French, and Chemistry. After I graduated, I went to China and taught English both at a school and privately for three years. Right now I am teaching English as a Second Language at a language school here in San Diego. I like private tutoring a lot more than teaching large classes because it's much more personalized, and I can help the student learn exactly what they need. It's great to see someone make progress and become confident with something that he or she was previously struggling with. I am interested in tutoring anything related to English, especially grammar and vocabulary, SAT, ISEE, French, Latin, Mandarin Chinese, History and Social Studies, Algebra, Music Theory, and Flute. I am excited to meet my new students!
I am a rising fourth-year medical student at Perelman SOM at the University of Pennsylvania currently taking time off from school. I am a Yale 2014 graduate (B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry). I spent my gap year doing wet lab research in a biochemistry lab at the main NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland, My parents are both university math professors with a natural gift for teaching that I believe they passed on to me. I hope to apply for residency in Internal Medicine or Psychiatry and down the line in my career to teach medical students while practicing in and academic or private-practice setting. I specialize in MCAT testing but am hoping to tutor for the SAT as well, and possibly AP exams. In my free time I enjoy rock climbing, running, working out, playing video games, and dabbling in random hobbies (most recently crochet!).
I am a knowledgeable tutor with over 5 years of experience in SAT tutoring. While studying psychology at Yale, I focused on developmental psychology, early childhood education, and writing. I have a background in nannying as well, so connecting with kids comes naturally to me. I have a master's degree in social work, meaning that I am able to compassionately support your child as they learn, while also providing a strong foundation for college and post graduate study skills. For elementary school tutoring, I specialize in supporting students with phonics and reading fluency. I'm also able to provide support in developing number sense and critical thinking skills in math. For high school tutoring, I specialize in SAT tutoring. Students preparing for the SAT with me can expect a custom study plan and individual assignments each week. I take a broad approach to prepare students as much as possible for the exam by practicing strategies based on general question type rather than focusing on content. It's better to study the test than to study the content during tutoring, and I've had great results with this approach! I look forward to helping your child meet their academic goals.
I am a graduate of Yale University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on 3D Mechanical Design. During my time there, I was exposed to the many inequities that exist in accessing resources in STEM and since then I've been passionate about breaking down any barriers to entry. I've worked as an Engineering teacher, exposing students to Robotics, Engineering Design as well as Architectural design through platforms such as VEX, Roblox, Onshape, Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Revit. As a mechanical engineer, I love to do anything that's hands on, innovative and challenges and improves my own skills. STEM is meant to be fun!

I'm currently an undergraduate at Yale University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English. While I am most passionate about English Literature, I tutor a wide range of subjects, including SAT and ACT Prep, High School Level Math, and French Language.Over the past few years, I've become truly passionate about teaching. In high school, I worked as a private tutor for a middle school student. Since starting college, I've taught a seminar every semester to local high schoolers on "Sample-Based Hip-Hop." Both of these experiences have been incredibly fulfilling and have taught me a lot about the inner-workings of good pedagogy. I believe that the foundation of teaching is strong communication and empathy. As such, I think it is important to get to know each student not only as a student but as an individual. I adapt my teaching style depending on the interests, needs, and unique perspective of each student. In my free time, I host a radio show with a couple friends where each week we share music around a central theme. I also love to write and produce my own music, and I work as an audio engineer for my college recording studio.

I am a freshman at Yale University, hailing originally from Seattle in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I believe that education is one of the most fundamental aspects of a society's wellbeing, and that it is the duty of those of us who have been graced with the advantages of a good education to give back in some way; one of my motivations for tutoring is to do my part in that way.In my free time, I love playing piano, running, riding my bike, and learning languages. My strongest academic interests are languages and literature, math, and art.

It is my belief that what makes a great teacher is the ability to listen and fully take in where a particular student is coming from. We don't ask enough questions of our students. Each of us is so very unique, with a specific way in which we learn and take in information. We must ask questions in order to find out where a student is coming from and how they view their own challenges, so that we can truly impart information that will help that specific student become a better learner. My job is to not only help the student overcome specific content hurdles, but to also help them become a better learner overall. That is my global view on our responsibility as educators. The teachers that impacted me the most where the ones that engaged my creativity while challenging me to go further and bolstering my belief in myself. Therefore, it is my responsibility to carefully observe and take in what an individual students challenges or blocks may be, and tailor my tutoring specifically to target those challenges, while reinforcing what the student already does well. My ability to use my instincts and my observational listening skills to uncover a students potential challenges, coupled with my natural teaching ability and my verbal communication skills make me a very effective tutor. My students will feel challenged and confident in their ability and this will produce major educational growth and quantifiable results.
