I am passionate about coaching students and adults so they can reach their highest potential and believe in their ability to succeed. A coach provides valuable feedback, goal setting, consistency, and accountability and will help you find what internally motivates you. My public speaking career had an unusual start that began in the 4th grade. If we work together ask me to tell you the story. I hold a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in mass media and journalism. In 2010, I obtained a master's degree in exercise physiology, health promotion, and wellness coaching from the University of Central Florida. In 2008 I began teaching as an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College and the University of Central Florida. In this role, I mentored hundreds of students and enjoyed helping students develop academically. In 2011, I was selected to serve on the Professional Speakers Board at Florida Atlantic University. In this role, I taught Professional Development to various large groups within the community. In 2015, I became Director for a large non-profit Christian organization where I managed hundreds of employees and thoroughly enjoyed the excitement and challenge of leading staff. I have over 17 years of experience coaching wellness and communications. I have worked for hospitals, non-profit organizations, and public universities. I am a certified wellness and life coach and help my clients level up in many areas within their life including time management, public speaking, confidence coaching, student development, leadership, executive coaching, and all aspects of well-being. Currently, I own an online company where I offer digital courses and coach clients in healthy living practices, professional development, communications, public speaking, mindfulness, and stress management techniques. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, ACE Certified CPT, GFI, Pilates Instructor, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Breathing Coach, Wellness and Life Coach, and Nutrition Specialist. My goal as a coach is to help you breathe well, live well and speak well. I help professionals and students take an inside-out approach to enhanced communication and well-being. Personally, I am Christian Woman and I get fulfillment from being outdoors and exploring with my husband, and our two young daughters. We love our family/friends and enjoy quality time together as much as possible. I've grown into a great cook and enjoy making simplistic and delicious meals. I feel my best after being physically active and I've seen my greatest progress from implementing mind-body practices such as breath work and mindfulness movement. My mission is to love God and love people. Professionally, I am a high-achiever and lifelong learner, I truly value education and the human potential to evolve. I look forward to working with those who are ready to make major improvements in their professional, academic, and personal life. Let's get started!

I am a student of the University of Central Florida currently working on a PhD in Digital Media. As a tutor for Varsity Tutors, I have the unique ability to be able to combine two of my greatest passions--writing, and helping others. This is a combination of interests that I've been working with for a while now whether in High School tutoring children from my old elementary school, mentoring middles schoolers and high schoolers as part of Write Away, and tutoring college students on essay writing with Tutor.com. When it comes to tutoring, I specialize in reading and writing, though find my preference to be mostly in writing as it is a subject I am both strong in as well as take a personal interest in as an aspiring writer. Outside of writing stories, however, interests of mine including consuming media of all types such as books, movies, television shows, or video games, enjoying all so long as they have good stories to back them up.

I always strive to be my best every day.I have four college degrees that vary pretty significantly. I have a culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University, a general AA from Valencia Community College, a Bachelors degree in Anthropology with a minor in African American studies, and a Masters Degree from the University of South Florida. I have worked as a freelance book editor for about ten years as well as a freelance archivist at local universities. I am published on the Legislative Archives website as well as creating metadata for the Library of Congress. But my favorite job that I do besides tutoring of course, is as a dog walker. I have found that sitting all day is not for me so I walk peoples dogs.I have worked as a tutor for 3 years, everything from elementary reading, math, social studies and science up to and including Algebra. I home school one of my children but send the other to regular school where he thrives more with a traditional setting. My family and I live on a small farm in central Florida where we raise rabbits for show. We also have chickens, horses and a pot bellied pig.I love to teach elementary and middle school writing and reading. I love the look on a child's face when they understand what they have just accomplished. I truly enjoy most sciences including social science, and anything history related is right up my alley.

I am a Math and Science tutor, mostly physics but other sciences too. I have always loved being able to help others learn, it always makes me feel really proud when I am able to explain a subject to someone and they understand it for the first time. I have been a tutor privately since high school when I was able to help my friends and classmates understand subjects in a way that the teachers could not. I then was hired by my undergraduate university, Stetson University, to tutor math and physics of lower level classes in my second year. I continued tutoring there through my remaining years at the university before graduating with a bachelors of science in math, a bachelors of science in physics, and a bachelors of art in psychology. When I moved on to graduate school at the University of Central Florida, I began teaching in classrooms for the undergraduate students attending the university. I taught Physics 1 and 2 both with and without calculus for the 3 years it took me to receive my Masters of science in Physics. After that I decided to move over to Aerospace Engineering to get a Masters and then continue on to my PhD, which is what I am currently in school for. I always feel that the best way to learn is by having fun with the subject. Math can be really fun and I love to share my enthusiasm for it. I am able to help explain math in ways that work for people with dyscalculia, which is dyslexia for math. I also think that the best way to explain physics and other sciences is relating it to everyday things. Physics is just the study of the world around us and applying math to that. Chemistry is just our study of the make up of things and how elements themselves react. Biology is the way we study living things. All of the science subjects can be looked at in the simplest terms and it can be understood by anyone!

I've coached friends through dual enrollment, scholarships, financial aid, and grants, saving them thousands. I've even taught music, programming, and tech literacy (Violin, Piano, Guitar, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Python, C, C#, C++, Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, etc.) An initial 15-minute session is free, and you can even just message me some questions; I'll be happy to answer. I am a graduate from University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. My passion in teaching mainly stems from being a poor learner myself when I was young. Thus, my philosophy as a tutor is to simplify materials to the point where it is easily digestible to everyone, not just the ones that are learning it. Given that I worked as an after-school counselor in an elementary school before, I am also able to work with children and teach them rudimentary math skills. My strength mainly lies in the sciences such as Biology; I have taken part in a lot of group study sessions to know what students usually struggle with, and how to approach these challenges. In my spare time, I like to be outdoors playing basketball or go to the beach.

I found myself falling in love with the idea of having an entire class of students for the day, which in turn caused me to switch gears, take extra classes and earn my K-6th grade Teaching Certification. I have taught 5th grade, Kindergarten, 1st grade and also worked as the school librarian over the course of 15 years and absolutely loved seeing the growth of each and every student I had the honor of teaching. Before teaching, I even worked in Japan as an English teacher to students from age 3-adult! Phonics, reading, spelling, language and writing are some of my favorite subjects to teach. I believe every student deserves the opportunity to receive the best education possible, and I strive to do just that. Learning is different for every child, and finding what works for each individual student is imperative to their success. I am a pre-medical student at the University of Central Florida with a double major in Mathematics and Chemistry. I have been tutoring for about 5 years; with National Honor Society, American Chemical Society, Chegg, and freelance. Im most passionate about Math. It is my strongest subject as well as the one I have tutored the most; however, I can also tutor chemistry at a moderately advanced level, and a few miscellaneous classes. I believe that things are best learned, and more importantly retained, conceptually, and try to steer students away from rote memorization as much as possible. This goes double for a subject such as math, which is heavy in logic; trying to memorize every single formula is lacking compared to understanding the logic by which one formula can be used to derive another. In my spare time, I enjoy music, partner dance, martial arts, and working on pet projects that involve math and programming.

I believe all students are able to effectively learn new information and apply it to real life. All students learn differently and at different paces. Some students learn by doing, some by hearing and some by seeing. An effective tutor is able to use different teaching methods to reach each individual student. Also, the tutor must understand the strengths and weaknesses of each student to assess areas of improvement. When you pair the student with an effective tutor, then the student will gain more knowledge. This results in better grades and test scores, and a greater opportunity for success in the future.

My graduate work at the University of Central Florida centered on cloud Bigdata and machine learning and the development of a proof of concept of a NoSQL database engine with security features that allow users to outsource computation on the encrypted data without revealing the decryption key to the cloud provider. To support my research, I worked as GTA (graduate teaching associate) for 15 semesters. This role helped me to gain lots of teaching experience and helped me to benefit from close interactions with students and faculty members. I had a graduate teaching associate position for 5 years and the age group of students that I instructed was undergraduate college students. I taught algorithm design, Data structure, web programming, computer organization, and intro to machine learning. Now I am looking for a schedule flexible tutoring job where I can help students to accelerate academic achievement. Many UCF alumni tutors have experience helping students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and professional licensing exams. If you're working toward graduate school, a professional certification, or trying to improve your performance on an entrance exam, connecting with a tutor who attended UCF and has test prep experience can provide valuable perspective on effective study strategies and content mastery.

Getting started is simple—tell us about your goals, the subjects you need help with, and any preferences about your tutor's background or experience. Varsity Tutors will match you with a UCF alumnus who fits your needs. Once you're matched, you can schedule personalized 1-on-1 instruction at times that work for your schedule. Most students connect with their tutor within a few days of signing up.
