I am a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where I majored in Classical Languages (that includes both Latin and Ancient Greek). I have a very diverse background. My first academic passion was competitive debate. For years I immersed myself in a world of arguments ranging from the politically concrete to the philosophically abstract. Three and a half years ago I had a professor at the University of Michigan who opened up the life changing power of literature and after that I began passionately pursuing language for its beautiful and poetic qualities. Since then, I have finished a degree in English literature as well as spending substantial time abroad. Knowing the inner workings of reason and argumentation, poetic and literary language, and how to focus and calm the mind all complement one another.Whatever I teach you, it will be a way of thinking. Certainly we will deal with content; one can never learn a process without something to apply it to. Having me as a tutor though will be more valuable than a difference made on the grade for a single assignment. I am a freshman at the University of Michigan working towards a major in Economics with a Minor in Data Science. I think it's important to cherish education because it can genuinely teach you different skill-sets. I've tutored all throughout high school from Kumon to volunteering. I love working with all age ranges with different subjects (my favorite being spanish, algebra, geometry, english, and reading). I think it's important to have fun while you're learning and to genuinely understand the material, not just doing homework to get it done. It is also very important to take breaks while doing homework and to make sure to take your time. Also during standardized tests, it's a hard test and sometimes pressure gets to students. It's okay to make mistakes but practicing through it is the most important part!
