Hello! I am a national merit finalist and a top 1% percentile scorer on the SAT. I am currently studying biomedical sciences in the Bs/Md program at the University of South Florida. Though I am studying medicine, I have always had a passion for tutoring. My philosophy in tutoring someone is simple: I aim to impart the same level of understanding and mastery over the subject that I have onto the student. I do this by walking them through the necessary thought process required to not only answer the question but to fully grasp the underlying concepts behind every question. I look forward to working with you!

I hold a Master's degree in History from the University of South Florida and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education at Walden University. With nearly a decade of experience supporting learners from early childhood through high school, I've tutored a wide range of subjects including Math, Science, English, History, Civics, and Test Prep. History is my favorite subject to teach because it builds critical thinking and helps students connect past events to the world they live in today. I love guiding learners toward those "aha" moments when everything finally clicks. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and studentcentered. I focus on building confidence through active listening, clear explanations, and personalized support. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading historical fiction, writing music, volunteering, and studying world languages. My goal is to help every student grow academically while developing independence and a genuine love of learning.

I am a National Merit awardee, and a recent USF Graduate with a D.B.A. with Honors in Philosophy and History, both of which I enjoy thoroughly. My job is to make the material as easy to understand for you as it is for me. I have done this by mastering conversational Socratic ask-and-answer methodology to ensure my students attain the capacity to come to the right answers on their own. Additionally, I have invented multiple general tactics and even detailed strategies pertinent to specific question types, with the ability to translate the above to all learning styles including neurodivergent ones -particularly ADHD and anxiety which I myself have- to radically and adaptably simplify the exam for students as per their personal learning aptitudes.

Many students come to tutoring because they say they are just not good at Math. After several sessions with me they discover that is not true. They just never had anyone explain concepts to them in a way that they learn. I am a former Math Instructor at the University and taught College Algebra, Business Calculus and Pre Calculus.

I am an MS graduate at the University of South Florida, in the field of ecology and Evolution, with my bachelors from the University of Florida in general biology with a chemistry minor.Since graduating from UF, I planned to either go to medical school, or to seek a position as a professor teaching at a reputable college. I chose the latter; though the pay is less, I find too much joy in both research and teaching to not pursue those as a career at the highest level.Throughout my life, I have found that I am very skilled at teaching both my colleagues and those younger than me. Around my middle school years, I found I have a knack for explaining abstract and difficult-to-understand topics. At which point, I began tutoring on a volunteer basis which later developed into a private tutoring business. I normally teach college courses as a Teaching Assistant at the University of South Florida Tampa campus, while I further my work on my dissertation (centered on genetics).I am comfortable with teaching mathematics through Calculus I (or whatever the equivalent.) I am extremely competent with statistics, as it comprises an integral part of both my TA work and research. I also excel in all areas of academic writing. I am most suited to test prep tutoring sessions: I have invariably excelled at all standardized tests. I am also familiar with ACT and SAT formats, and the particular and differing strategies that maximize the likelihood of high scores for each.

A strong foundation and thorough understanding of basic concepts permits the creation of an efficient pathway to more complicated material that can be easily comprehended at each stage.I have recently stepped away from the private sector in an effort to give back to the community that gave so much to me. I'm an engineer with tutoring experience ready to help students of all ages in a variety of math subjects, as well as with standardized testing needs. Being an engineer means that I'm a problem-solver, and that I need to be able to adapt to a variety of situations. I apply that skill to my tutoring: every student is different, and I adapt my teaching methods to those differences. The most important thing I do is make sure each student understands what they're trying to learn, not just tricks to get through their homework. If there's some basic skills missing, I make sure to go back and polish those up before getting back to the main problem. At the end of the day, I want the student to to feel confident they're getting better.I can handle things as simple as algebra or as complicated as calculus. I'm also an excellent test taker, ready to assist with the SAT or ACT exams. I'm confident I can help you or your child get better at math, and hopefully make it a little fun along the way.

I have learned also from my experiences during my early high school years. I didnt take education seriously and thus I didnt think I could learn. However, as I progressed up the Education ladder and attained my Masters Degree, I made a promise to myself and to those I have taught and will teach, that I will teach with an understanding and compassion for the learner who can learn, but who may not have the confidence. The truth is, everyone can learn. Its just that sometimes we need help discovering that we can accomplish more than we think.

2+ Years Tutoring

I am currently a 3rd year student at the University of Florida studying Computer Science, working toward an eventual master's degree. I have worked with students in a larger group setting through my volunteer work in my local community center's Youth Tutoring Program and one-on-one, tutoring a child with learning disabilities over zoom over the pandemic. I like to focus on providing a thorough explanation and making sure a student understands a question conceptually, rather than just how to do it, while also going over important test-taking strategies. I tutor both SAT Math and Reading/Writing. I believe that learning how to deal with high-pressure testing like the SAT helps students prepare for the kinds of difficult testing environments they will encounter more regularly during college.
