I am a math and science enthusiast that loves to help others become more comfortable with a subject that they do not feel confident in. I understand how difficult concepts may seem at first but more importantly how great it feels once those concepts finally click. My patience goes on for miles and miles so I will never be frustrated with the learning rate of an individual. I love a good challenge and see tutoring as a learning experience for both individuals involved. My interests outside of academics are reading both fiction and non-fiction works, hiking forests, trails, and mountains, kayaking rivers and lakes, bicycling the Great Allegheny Passage, jogging around the city of Pittsburgh, playing guitar and singing, and cooking delicious food.

After high school, I attended the Community College of Allegheny County and am soon transferring to the University of Pittsburgh to finish a degree in Statistics. I currently work as a self-taught computer programmer, and am using the same love of learning that gave me this job to help other students. In 2009, I began tutoring three students who were failing their Honors Chemistry class at the end of the first quarter. By the end of the year, two had B's and one had a C. The pride of that success has kept me tutoring for more than 7 years.Giving motivated students the assistance they need to succeed is my biggest passion.

For as long as I can remember, I've always loved math. Two years ago, I went back to school and began my journey towards becoming a Chemical Engineer. I have started out at Community College of Allegheny County and plan to finish my degree at the University of Pittsburgh. While at CCAC, I began to tutor students and developed a passion for it, particularly when it comes to mathematics. Exploring the language of mathematics can be incredibly fun, challenging and rewarding, this is something I always try to impart on anyone I may help. While I'm not studying you'll find me reading for pleasure or outdoors engaging in one of many activities.
