With a degree in English and in Psychology, I strive to teach and tutor my student with patience, guidance for improvement, and differentiation for meeting each student's personal educational goals. My experiences in the public school setting have been in the middle to high school levels. However, I have substituted at all grade levels because I was in high demand by school administrators. I currently am a graduate student at Point Park University. I will graduate with a M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with Reading Specialist certification. I earned my undergraduate degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. I love teaching and watching my students grow and learn.

I am a certified elementary teacher and secondary English teacher. I have graduate degrees in English and English education.I have a wide variety of experiences working with children both in classrooms and online. I have taught high school and college composition courses. I have presented science assemblies to large groups of elementary school students. I have experience working with young children with special needs both as a substitute teacher and as a direct care professional. I also teach online ESL classes to children and adults from around the world.I am curious, creative, cheerful, patient, and encouraging. I am curious about the world and love to read and learn. I have obtained my B.A. in Environmental Studies and International Relations from Washington & Jefferson College in 2011 and in 2014, I received my M.Sc in Environmental Studies from Point Park University. Upon graduating in 2011, I began working with The Student Conservation Association and a few other environmental nonprofits as an environmental educator. I am especially passionate about sustainability and environmental justice.As an avid traveler, in 2015, I decided to move abroad to Istanbul, Turkey where I began teaching English as a Second language at Ibn Haldun University. While my role was to teach English, I was fortunate enough to be able to create a speciality course and after school club with the students that were interested in the environment to share my passion with them.My tutoring and teaching style tends to change based on the students needs, interests, and learning preferences. My main goal for each class is to spark interest in the topic and create an engaging and interactive lesson based on students' understanding and personal interests.

I am a graduate of Duquesne University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Jewish Studies. I graduated Cum Laude and was part of the Honors College and many other student organizations throughout my time at Duquesne University. I was also deeply involved in academic research and completed an Independent Honors Senior Research Thesis. Currently I am in graduate school studying for my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have a wide range of tutoring experiences, tutoring children of all ages within various subjects as well as tutoring my university peers. I also have experience tutoring for college and graduate school prep, as well as essay writing for college and graduate school admission. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Psychology, Writing, English and Literature. I am a firm believer in every student's ability to learn and succeed in their studies! In my spare time, I enjoy reading a variety of genres, yoga, running, and playing board games!
