It's very important to me that young people also gain self-worth/acceptance alongside their schoolwork because a deep-rooted belief in yourself is the foundation of success.Supporting my students at the highest level became my number one priority. When I was a math teacher in middle school/upper elementary, I sought out opportunities to hone my ability to teach literacy when I noticed many of my students struggled to decode word problems. I was trained to administer reading and writing tests to evaluate fluency and comprehension and use that information to guide my instruction. I also learned how to support students with IEPs by focusing on neurodiversity in graduate school.

Knowledge is power. I believe that my purpose in life is to educate students so that they may have the knowledge needed to change the world. I obtained my bachelors degree from Wiley College in Sociology. I then attended Relay Graduate School of Education to obtain a Masters degree in Teaching. I am certified to teach English, Math, Science and Social Studies for grades K-6th. I am passionate about tutoring students in both Reading and Math because these subjects are the foundations of everything that we do in life. I have been a teacher for 4 years but I have been tutoring for almost 10 years. After you finish a session with me, it is my hope that you know more information than you began with. I hope that you have multiple "ah-ha" and "light bulb" moments, but most importantly I hope you leave knowing that you are an amazing person that can accomplish anything that you put your mind to.
