Teaching Spanish is more than just a subject for meit's a passion. I love helping students develop their language skills and gain confidence in their ability to communicate. Learning a new language opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities, and I am dedicated to making that journey engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable. I have extensive experience working with students of different learning styles and abilities, and I take a patient, adaptable approach to teaching. I have taught Spanish 1-4AP teach and I currently tutor Spanish levels 1-3, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension, and conversational skills. I believe language learning should be immersive and interactive, so I incorporate real-world applications, games, and cultural elements to make lessons dynamic and relevant. I earned my degree in 1997 from Stephen F. Austin State University and have dedicated my career to education. My favorite part of tutoring Spanish is helping students break through challengeswhether it's mastering tricky verb conjugations, improving pronunciation, or feeling more comfortable speaking in real-life situations. My teaching philosophy is student-centered and encouraging. I tailor my approach to fit each learner's needs, using engaging activities, conversation practice, and structured lessons to reinforce key concepts. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and ultimately growing in their language proficiency.

I am a retired accountant with decades of experience and a passion for financial accounting. My career began with nine years in public accounting, followed by a long tenure as an accountant in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the SEC, I reviewed financial statements and other financial disclosures included in disclosure documents such as Form 10-K, 10-Q and Registration and Proxy Statements playing an integral role to ensure compliance with SEC and Accounting (GAAP) rules and to improve disclosures for investors. I hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and maintain an active CPA license. Now in retirement, I've chosen to tutor to give back to the next generation of accountants. I aim to make a positive impact by sharing not just technical knowledge, but also the practical, real-world insights I gained throughout my career. My teaching philosophy is centered around listening, encouragement, and accountability. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. I focus on simplifying complex concepts and using real-world examples to help students connect theory to practice. My ultimate goal is to empower each student to take ownership of their learning and achieve lasting results.

I graduated from Fredericksburg Highschool in May of 2025. I go to Stephen F. Austin State University. I'm working towards my bachelors in mathematics and I plan to teach high school math once I graduate! I student taught in my hometowns middle school and even lead lessons. I tutored for my high school as well as for my friends. I am primarily a mathematics tutor specializing in precalculus. I'm not limited to only precalculus as I also have experience with middle school mathematics, elementary mathematics, geometry, algebra 2 and algebra 1. My subject to tutor is precalculus. I also enjoy Algebra 1 because I've had the most experience with it and went to state for FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) for an algebra 1 lesson I created. The lesson focused on introducing exponents. It followed the 5 E model which includes engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate. I often utilize the 5 E's in tutoring. I believe that every student is intelligent. I've noticed that students tend to underestimate their intelligence which is very discouraging. I hope to uplift students and help them understand their potential. My tutoring style is facilitative. This means that I guide students to find answers themselves and help them think deeper. This style is stemmed off of my teaching style which directly follows the 5 E model ensuring student comprehension. I've known I wanted to teach since before I can remember. There's actually a photo of four year old me teaching my stuffed animals out of a picture book. I had a little desk that was an upside down tub, a jar of pens that were magnetic blocks and some popsicle sticks and even a little reading corner for my "students." In high school I was voted "most likely to come back and teach at FHS" as a senior superlative. Teaching is my passion.

As an as educator with over 14 years of experience I believe it is our responsibility to ensure all students learn and grow. Every child can learn, but first they must be met on their academic level, so that they can reach their full potential. We must encourage students by not comparing them to each other, but have them reach the greatest heights possible for themselves individually.
