Hello, I'm June and I would love to be your tutor! I hold a masters degree in bioengineering, so I have extensive knowledge and experience with challenging math, biology, and chemistry coursework. I have a strong passion for helping others, so I would be more than happy to help you better comprehend concepts and courses!

I graduated from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and minors in International Studies & Ethnic Studies. After college, I decided to purse my passion of service and working with youth in the realm of education as I am with my current role as a full-time AmeriCorps volunteer with City Year. Here I tutor middle school aged students in predominately math. Additionally, I have tutoring experience with first grade students in English Language Arts, working with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. I also have experience teaching English abroad, as I studied abroad in Argentina during my college career. I have worked with, and tutored youth for many years and I simply want to give back. I believe every student, regardless of their zip code, should have the equal access to a high quality education. I have high expectations for all of my students and genuinely believe they will all reach them with perseverance, desire, and maybe a little help from me. I enjoy music, spending time with friends and being in social settings. I am the huge extrovert and love talking and meeting new people.
I am a motivated graduate student attending the UCLA School of Dentistry. I am originally from Oklahoma City and stay here during summer and winter vacations. I have vast experience in tutoring many science and math subjects to students of all age groups. I have not only tutored at other agencies, but also at my college. I am also proficient at tutoring standardized tests (such as ACT/DAT) and can provide in-depth insight about how to navigate concepts taught in the classroom setting so that you increase your scores and get better grades!I love tutoring because I love helping students better their grades/scores and seeing them move one step closer to their ultimate career goals. For me, tutoring is not only about teaching a certain subject. It is also about making sure that you have understood the core concepts related to that subject so you can apply these over and over again. I hope I get to work with you/you child and help them come one step closer to achieving their goals as well! After receiving good grades in upper division mathematics courses required for my bachelors degree, I decided to put it to use by tutoring at a center where I not only solidified concepts but learned the areas that students have a difficulty in.I love all science topics including a vast number of college-level sciences. Not only have I received 99th percentile in ACT and DAT science sections, but I have also graduated in a science field with a Magna cum Laude honors. These qualifications reflect my passion for science and I hope to transfer some of the techniques I have learned along the way to you!I encourage you to contact me to learn more and schedule lessons. I am very flexible during the summer and suggest it to anyone who is looking to master a subject!
I fully agree with the idea behind this quote: "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid," and I live my life as a teacher accordingly-- knowing my main goal is to meet a student where they are, and to guide them in the best suited way for them.
I am a firm believer that anything is possible if we do what we need to do to make it happen. I am a teacher by trade, but a life long learner by choice. I love teaching, mentoring and enjoying watching my student grow. I enjoy life to its fullest.
I am a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA where I received two Bachelors of Arts degrees in 2011. One of my degrees was in International Relations and Global Studies with a minor in Anthropology, and my second degree was in Spanish Language and Literature. Once I graduated, I moved back to Southern California in order to pursue work in the legal field with the ultimate goal of attending law school. I worked for a year between two separate law firms in the greater Los Angeles area as a Law Clerk and tutored high school students in LA's South Bay. I specialized in a wide range of subjects to fit my clients' needs, however, I am most passionate about teaching skills for Writing, Reading, Grammar, and Spanish. In my opinion, languages, both those that we are native to and new ones we wish to acquire, are fascinating but also take a lot of work to stay fresh. I understand the struggles many students face while grappling with reading and writing in English, and I especially understand the difficulties of mastering Spanish, as it is not my native tongue. I have found that this understanding helps me to be a more creative and thus effective tutor and leads to positive results with my clients. Last year, I moved to Orange County to begin my first year as a law student at UC Irvine School of Law. I am now in my second year at the law school and feel, if anything, I am even better suited to tutor new clients. Apart from school and tutoring, I enjoy being outdoors with my new puppy, training for and participating in triathlons, travel, photography, and attending country concerts.
As a passionate educator with a Doctorate in Law from the University of the Pacific, I bring over 2 years of dedicated tutoring experience in subjects such as College English, Creative Writing, and High School World History. My teaching philosophy centers on fostering a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and develop critical thinking skills. I strive to connect with each student by tailoring my approach to their unique needs and interests, ensuring they not only grasp the material but also find joy in learning. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and exploring new cultures, which enrich my teaching and helps inspire students to broaden their horizons.
My name is Molly and I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been teaching students of all ages for over 10 years. My areas of specialty are executive functioning, self-management, and fluency. I also have a BS and MA in Psychology and enjoy teaching high school and college-level psychology courses. As a BCBA, I have designed training for 11 RBTs, 1 BCaBA, and 4 BCBAs who have all passed their certification exams on the first attempt.
I was born into a family of teachers and have felt the inclination to teach or tutor for some time. Since I started my own company and switched to making my own schedule, it seems like now is just as good a time as any to become a professional tutor! I went to a magnet high school for technology and science and in college, I studied Applied Mathematics with an emphasis in Physics so it's safe to say most of my education has been centered around STEM. Even still, I used to think I was bad at math until my second year of college taking an intro to business math class and decided I needed to switch majors. The rest is history. In my experience, math is one of those subjects that people seem the most fearful of learning; sometimes believing they are predisposed to not being able to learn it. I think that while it might be harder for some people, a lot depends on how it is taught, so seeking help from tutors is quite possibly the best way to go if you're struggling to learn it from a more standardized source. I promise to help you find what clicks even if I'm helping you with some software or something seemingly not super math intensive because I believe with practice, anything is possible and the "aha!" moments are always the best.
A professional writer, director, and producer with careers in both Hollywood and New York, I bring real-world experience to the craft of writing. I graduated from New York City's renowned Trinity School and studied creative writing and literature at the University of the Pacific before spending many years in the screen industry. I later ran a writers evaluation business in New York, coaching professional and amateur writers alike to get the best out of themselves and that same approach drives everything I do with students.
