Hi there! I'm Kim, a nursing educator and Critical Care Nurse with 35 years of experience, and I absolutely love helping students build confidence and succeed in nursing. With an MSN, I bring both extensive real-world clinical knowledge and a passion for teaching to every session. Whether you're learning the fundamentals or preparing for challenging exams, I'm here to make nursing concepts feel more approachable, practical, and connected to real-world patient care. With experience in both tutoring and classroom settings, I bring a supportive, encouraging teaching style that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and truly understanding the material. I am a graduate of Walden University where I received a Master's in Psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice. I have also obtained a Master's in Healthcare Administration with a focus in education. Currently, I perform investigations in the criminal justice field while I also work as a university professor teaching criminal justice. I have recorded textbooks for the visually impaired and tutored children whose parents lived in a homeless shelter where I volunteered. I also worked with some of the parents by helping them with budgeting, completing college essays, and helping some to improve their English skills (as I am a certified ESL instructor). While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Criminal Justice, Literature, and Psychology. One of the most important skills that I can aid students in developing is writing and thinking critically regarding the information they receive as they continue to grow throughout their educational careers. I must encourage and prepare students to be contributors in society both locally and globally as well as inspiring the need for continued research that expands conceptual understanding aimed at making a difference. I am a firm advocate of education because it has the potential to improve an individual's quality of life while both broadening and advancing one's exposure and opportunities.
My philosophy of teaching includes creating an atmosphere of trust, making data-driven decisions, and utilizing research-based best practices in a learner-centered and holistic environment. Students need instruction. They need to believe that the instruction is relevant. They need to be exposed to new materials, new experiences, and even knowledge-building blocks within a flexible learning space that makes room for their learning style.

Hi! I look forward to meeting and working with you!
I have been an education for 30 years. I started out as a teacher and I taught every grade K through sixth. I then became a principal for elementary and I also was assistant principal at middle school. As a teacher and a principal, I always valued relationships. I think it's very important that you know your student and that they know you. As a tutor, I think it's a great opportunity to get to know students as individual learners and to help them become successful and to meet their goals.

Although I will not say that I am working towards building a legacy, I know that it is an inevitable by-product of living life. I often think of the magnitude of responsibility on my shoulders as an educator and the thousands of learners that my actions will influence over the next 15-20 years, and I'm adamant that my influence will be a positive one. It is my hope to push each student of mine toward being their best adult self. Through their learning experiences with me, they will have a stronger sense of self and good character, curiosity about the world around them, and thirst for knowledge. As a teacher leader, I hope to inspire change in any school culture that I'm a part of by moving the vision of the school forward, building strong teachers to improve their self-efficacy and student learning outcomes, making the experience at school student-centered.My success with student progress towards mastery comes in helping students find something they like about all aspects of learning. What I've found is that once students connect to something they are strong in within a subject, they are more likely to work hard to continue feeling the elation that accompanies being successful. It's my job to help them tap into the success that is steadily brewing just beneath the surface. I do that by creating shared learning experiences that cater to my students as individuals and treat them as the unique learners that they are.

I am a passionate learner who finds joy in helping others. For many years I struggled with test anxiety that took the joy out of learning and didn't properly reflect my understanding of material. With this in mind, I love working with others to understand content, master their own ways of learning, and recognize how to take test. My passion for teaching first began through teaching reading and comprehension to young children in Baltimore City and New York. I believe that reading and comprehension opens so many doors and I am excited to work with any ages that would like to grow in this skill. In addition to teaching reading and comprehension, I am social worker with a focus on maternal mental health along with child and family therapy. Everyone should find something that they are passionate about and then will easily put their all into it. I found my passion 19 years ago when I became a Mathematics teacher. I was inspired by my high school math teacher to become a teacher and today, my goal is to inspire young people to be good citizens to society. I impart positive values and I encourage my students to believe in themselves and that all things are possible if they persevere and are disciplined. I believe that every student is going to succeed. Going above and beyond the call of duty has always defined my attitude towards work. Relationship building is a must, so I establish that from the very inception. I have learned that respect begets respect so I respect my students and expect them to return the courtesy.
My name is Margaret Kanipe, and I have spent the past nine years working in education, with a deep passion for supporting young learners in kindergarten. My journey began as a teacher assistant, where I discovered how meaningful it is to help children build confidence, develop skills, and feel successful in the classroom. Today, as a kindergarten teacher, I am honored to play a role in shaping the very beginning of a child's academic journey. I believe that early childhood is one of the most important stages in a child's life. It is where they learn not only how to read and write, but also how to believe in themselves. I am trained in the Science of Reading and the AMC Math program, and I use these research-based approaches to provide strong, structured instruction in literacy and math. My goal is to ensure that every child builds a solid foundation while also feeling supported and encouraged every step of the way. What matters most to me is creating a warm, safe, and loving environment where children feel comfortable taking risks and growing as learners. I focus on building strong relationships with my students because I know that when children feel seen, valued, and understood, they thrive. I also value communication with families and believe that working together is key to a child's success. Teaching is more than just a career for meit is truly my calling. I am committed to helping every child reach their full potential and to making learning a positive and joyful experience. As a substitute teacher for 3.5 years, I have had the privilege of working with students from K-12, though I found my time with elementary students to be the most fulfilling. I am a 3rd year medical student looking to expand my skill in medicine and teaching. I have a bachelors in Math. I have been a tutor in math since freshmen year of college and I enjoy the satisfaction when someone smiles after understanding a concept that was once a problem. The way one gains a concept is amazing. I love teaching and I love helping. We are both learners!
A lifelong learner, my heroes have always been my teachers. Now my goal is to be that person for today's students. I returned to school after a business career and earned my PhD. For the past 5 years, teaching and tutoring math and statistics students within the Minnesota State colleges and universities system has been both challenging and satisfying. Helping students overcome their math frustration is a highlight. These subjects are not for everyone. However, it seems reasonable that successful learning comes when tutoring complements individual interests and educational goals. Some people aspire to win an Olympic medal; scientific minds would like a Nobel Prize; and those who like more drama, seek an Academy Award. Graduation is our ultimate goal as it helps advance an improved quality of life. Looking forward to working with you during a successful school year.

I am a graduate of Walden University, where I earned both my master's and Ph.D. in psychology. I find the principles of psychology fascinating and love sharing that knowledge with others. While earning my Ph.D., I tutored graduate students in statistics, helping break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps that even those who struggled with quantitative material could understand. I also have experience tutoring high school students in standardized test preparation, but psychology is the subject I'm most passionate about teaching. My tutoring style focuses on simplifying complex concepts and helping students build confidence as they master challenging material. I love guiding students toward those "aha" moments when ideas finally click, and many have shared that my approach has strengthened both their understanding and self-confidence. Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, making and listening to music, exercising, and spending time with my family.
