Hello Parents and Amazing Students,My name is Teacher Heny and I'm super excited to teach your child! I'm focused on connecting with him or her fulfilling their individual needs. I have 2 children, ages 11 and 8. I have volunteered in their classrooms for the past 5 years. I have read children's storybooks to the class and helped the kids with arts and crafts and projects. I love it and I'm happiest with kids! I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see the light in their eyes and make them happy. I love to color, draw, read poetry, and even learn about the weather patterns! I would love to teach students these various topics, but best of all, I enjoy tutoring English. I love teaching elementary school topics and seeing children progress when they're very young. It provides a sense of accomplishment. As a child, I used to use my favorite reading books to trace their covers such as The Berenstain Bears. I started in elementary school as early as age 8, and still enjoy drawing very much. For the past year, I have been teaching Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, and Writing online and I would love to continue teaching it on Varsity Tutors. In middle school, I loved learning about America's states and capitals. At a young age, I also have written poetry just for fun. I would love to show children their hidden talents through writing and expressing their thoughts. Great teachers are patient, friendly, challenging, and make sure the kids are having fun! I am a former high schools physics teacher and current graduate student in mathematics.I've had experience tutoring math subjects since my undergraduate days-- in a distant epoch-- and was lucky enough to teach the first AP Physics course at a high school in Florida.I believe that my approach to teaching mathematics and physics was borne out of an initial dislike and fear of the subject in middle school. Far from the 'arm-raised-straight-up' type, I was perfectly comfortable dreading being called on and relying on assured knowledge that I'd never needing such useless facts again.However, a curveball was thrown my way after reaching the 10th grade where I uncovered a nascent interest in physics. After reading A Brief History of Time and realizing that math and physics were so inextricably linked, I decided that I wanted to learn more about the field that Gauss called, "the queen of the sciences."I believe that if I an learn it, my students can learn it. It may be hackneyed, but I really do believe in the old adage that genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. In my experience, what often seems to the student a lack of ability to understand math or physics conceptually stems from easily taught (but not easily practiced) study skills.

As an educator with over 10 years of classroom and tutoring experience, I would love the opportunity to help your child reach his/her highest potential. I have a BA in psychology and a MS in Special Education from Monmouth University. In addition, I am recently Orton-Gillingham trained. I developed and operated a successful mobile academic learning center for deployed members who wanted to continue their education.After successfully completing my military obligation, I worked as an elementary school teacher and college instructor. With these accomplishments in higher learning, I held positions at the college level as instructor, Academic Chairperson, Director of Education and Interim Dean. My name is Diana and background is in the sciences. I have tutored all ages and was a teacher for younger children. I currently work at a school as management so I am missing the teaching portion of my life. I have developed various strategies and tips not just for students but myself throughout college. What may work for one person may not work for another even from subject to subject.I am patient and work to help aid students with academic challenges and goals.In my free time I love spending time with my family and pets. I am a father of 5, long-time soccer coach and sports entrepreneur. Currently, I teach on-ground, online and in hybrid settings for five colleges and universities. My background includes serving as CEO of a regional YMCA. My teaching roles are in the areas of economics, management, entrepreneurship, HR management at other related areas.

When I was a child, I found and read the book series The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer. I positively loved the series and it inspired my love and interest of history. This has continued with me into adulthood and influenced my decision to pursue a bachelors degree in history. However, prior to college, I was homeschooled through high school which allowed me to be flexible and self-motivated in learning. After high school, I went on to study at a college level, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History from Thomas Edison State University. I received many of my college credits from taking CLEP and DSST tests allowing me to graduate with a degree by the time I was eighteen. For completing my degree in this way, I received the Arnold Fletcher Award, an award for students with exceptional achievement in nontraditional learning.While studying at Thomas Edison I also had the opportunity and privilege to help coach a speech and debate group for a year, helping students improve on their speaking abilities. I also later worked as a chess instructor helping the students learn about the fundamentals of chess. Currently, I work as a substitute teacher at a private school. For the past several years I have also worked as a bookkeeper and I currently working in the finance office at a school. So, I am equipped to help students with finance and with computer application. With whatever I teach though, I believe that I should not instruct just for the purpose of people of obtaining knowledge so they can pass a test. I want knowledge that I give them to be used as wisdom for how they live life; applied knowledge. So, I hope that I have the opportunity to serve students through tutoring and help equip them for school and for life.

I completed my undergraduate degree at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and at Thomas Edison State College in 2008. My degree is B.A. Natural Sciences and Mathematics. I completed my graduate studies at Temple University. I graduated in 2012 with a M.S. in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs.I enjoy learning as much as possible about the world through science and mathematics. I have a passion for sharing science with others and teaching in general. I tutor all levels of mathematics and many sciences. My favorite math topics are algebra and trigonometry. I love these topics because they were my first real guides into the sciences. When I learned algebra a light bulb illuminated for me and I suddenly felt like the world made sense through math. I am a graduate of Thomas Edison State College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Communications and have more than 10 years of experience in the areas of public affairs, English, journalism, broadcasting, photography, media relations, copy-editing and publication design. During my time as an active-duty service member in the United States Navy, I had the great pleasure of working as a mass communication specialist and telling the Navy’s story to a worldwide audience. I served as a primary journalism and public affairs instructor at the Defense Information School (2011-2014) where I had the unique opportunity of teaching service members of all branches of service the fundamentals of military journalism and public affairs. Through extensive lesson plan development, classroom engagement and a passion for setting others up for success, my students were able to graduate and become the future of military communicators. As a student at DINFOS, he completed the Basic Public Affairs Specialist Writer Course and Basic Public Affairs Specialist Broadcast Course.In January 2006, he received orders to his first duty station, Navy Public Affairs Support Element East in Norfolk, Virginia. While at the command, Wyscaver completed two deployments: one onboard USS Bulkeley (DDG 84) as part of the Nassau Expeditionary Strike Group (2007-2008) and one onboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) as part of the Truman Strike Group (2009-2010). Notable temporary duty assignments included Fleet Week New York 2006, Hurricane Katrina humanitarian relief efforts (2007), Hurricane Ike humanitarian relief efforts in Galveston, Texas (2008), Fleet Week New York 2009, and Bold Quest Camp Lejeune, North Carolina (2009). While at NPASE, he completed more than 500 print stories, and produced more than 200 broadcast news packages. He was meritoriously promoted to Petty Officer Second Class in December of 2008 through the command advance program.In February 2011, he reported to his second duty station, DINFOS, as an instructor. In March 2011, he successfully completed the Instructor Training Course and met all other requirements to become a fully certified instructor. While instructing the Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course at DINFOS, MC2 Wyscaver has provided more than 1,000 Department of Defense students with essential journalism, public affairs and design and layout training through more than 3,500 hours of instruction. Starting in April 2013, he played a vital role in restructuring the Navy’s Basic Mass Communication Specialist Course by applying his expertise, insight and experience into developing the courses’ new journalism functional areas.MC2 Wyscaver is authorized to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars, the Good Conduct Award with two gold stars, the Battle ‘E’ medal, and the Humanitarian medal. He has also received five Letters of Appreciation from various commands throughout the fleet along with being a Navy Master Instructor Specialist and certified Defense Information School master instructor. I am a graduate of Thomas Edison State University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing through an accelerated second degree nursing program at TESU. Since then, I have gone on to pass the NCLEX in 75 questions and have become a registered nurse. I am also a graduate from Rider University from which I obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience. I am extremely passionate about nursing. I love learning as much as possible as I can about nursing and spreading this knowledge! In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer and running around with my dog.
