Hi, my name is Yael. I am currently finishing my Masters in Biomedical Sciences. I plan on taking my education further and applying to dental school. I love learning new things and figuring out ways to help people. I love to help in any way I can. I am tutoring because I love making a difference. education is not for everyone but it is important and I have many different strategies to accommodate everyone. Everyone is unique and has his or her own way of learning.
I am a graduate of Barry University's, School of Education, located in Miami Shores, Florida. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University. Since graduation, I have been employed as an elementary school teacher in my community. This experience has included tutoring children of immigrants; teaching adults in looking to improve their English (as I am an endorsed ESOL instructor). While I have taught my elementary students all subjects, I am most passionate about mathematics, reading and English. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be a fundamental cornerstone for an improved quality of life, in a democratic society. In my extra time, I enjoy reading about daily news, events and playing video games.
My mission as a teacher is to help my students realize that through learning, they can embrace their life in a positive way. I want to help all my students believe in themselves and through that belief, take on the challenges of life and go forward.
I received a Bachelor's of Arts degree at Barry University in south Florida with a major in Spanish and a minor in Translation and Interpretation. I began teaching Spanish after graduation. Over the years, I added certifications such as English Language Arts (5-9), English for Speakers of Other Languages (K-12), and Elementary Education (K-6). I have been fortunate to teach all grade levels (pre-K-12) and enjoy teaching students of all ages and backgrounds. During my teaching career I have taught Spanish and ESOL at all grade levels, 6th grade World History, 6th and 8th grade English Language Arts, high school Spanish I & II, and AP Spanish Literature. Although I've taught many subjects, my passion is the Spanish language, mainly reading and literature. My leisure activities include traveling, yoga, Crossfit and reading.
I am Dr. Kavan Thompson, a second-year radiology resident, and I tutor because mentoring is not just something I do it is the thread that has defined every chapter of my life. From the baseball diamond to the anatomy lab to the radiology reading room, I have discovered that true success comes when you help someone else rise. That realization became my calling, and it is why I am here: to turn complex science into clarity, confidence, and real-world mastery for students just like you. My journey began at Nova Southeastern University, where I played collegiate baseball and helped lead our team to a national championship my senior year. The discipline, teamwork, and leadership I learned on the field taught me how to break down overwhelming challenges, stay calm under pressure, and lift others up skills I now bring into every tutoring session. While earning my medical degree at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, I didn't just study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and biochemistry; I tutored the entire class below me in those same subjects, watching students transform from anxious to confident in real time. That experience showed me the profound difference one dedicated mentor can make. I then pursued a Master's in Biomedical Sciences, conducting original research in biochemistry and genetics. Today, as a radiology resident, I immerse myself in human anatomy and physiology daily while applying advanced physics to imaging techniques that literally save lives. This unique vantage point allows me to connect textbook concepts to clinical reality in ways most tutors cannot. Whether we are dissecting cell signaling pathways, mastering medical terminology, tackling biostatistics, or exploring the physics behind X-rays and MRIs, I don't just teach the material I show you exactly how it applies to patient care, research, and your future career. My approach is simple but powerful: I meet you exactly where you are. Every session is personalized, patient-paced, and built around your goals. I use real clinical cases, visual radiology examples, and research-backed study strategies to make abstract ideas intuitive and memorable. More importantly, I mentor the whole student. I help you build the resilience, time-management, and critical-thinking skills that will carry you through exams, interviews, and beyond. My students don't just pass they gain the confidence to excel and the tools to keep growing long after our sessions end. I became a tutor because I believe every student deserves a mentor who has walked the path they are on and is still walking it. Through my work, I plan to make a difference by turning fear of science into excitement, confusion into mastery, and potential into achievement one student at a time. If you are ready to move from struggling to thriving, I would be honored to guide you. Let's build your success story together.

I was a teaching assistant in college for a year and held private French lessons to elementary school kids for 2 years. I have also spent two summers teaching full-time high school courses in the sciences, social studies, and philosophy.I am super enthusiastic and passionate and would describe my approach to teaching as student-centered. I emphasize immersion, hands-on activities, skill and aptitude development, and critical thinking over mere memorization and regurgitation.I am aware that exam prep and testing can be a real cause of stress for some students, I always strive to tailor my teaching style with strategies to build confidence and help students feel more mindful, relaxed, and proficient.I am comfortable working with grade school students, undergraduates, and as well as adult learners.I am only available to tutor online, my subjects include science, AP and IB Biology, undergrad biology courses, Philosophy (AP, IB, and undergrad), English Literature, French K-12 (C'est ma premiere langue! All my life, I was always curious about how the human body work. A growing interest in understanding the origin, growth, and function of living species led me to major in Biology. I started at Miami Dade College as pre-med and transfer to Florida International University (FIU) where I received my bachelor of Sciences in Biology major. While I was attending FIU I worked as a Peer-Led Tutoring Leader at MDC, where I guided and mentored students who struggled with mathematics, chemistry, and biology. My experience tutoring other student help me understand the materials better by trying different techniques for problem solving. I also enhanced my interpersonal, communication, and team-building abilities and improved my leadership skills. After graduating from FIU, I felt the need to enhance my science background by enrolling to the Biomedical Science program at Barry University. Tutoring others helped me to extend my knowledge and be able to build my ability to get involve, and demonstrate my compassion and commitment in these areas. My interest in science and my natural curiosities to the well-being of others are the reasons that I enjoyed tutoring.Besides tutoring, I enjoy traveling and learn about different culture, and also play soccer.

My name is Faraaz, and I am currently a 4th year medical student at Ross University School of Medicine. I graduated from the Ohio State University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and minors in Arabic and Business. Additionally, I obtained a Masters degree in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Miami, Florida. I have worked tirelessly to get to the point I am at today, and over the course of my studies, I have learned a few things about what it takes to be a successful student. Often times, the information we need to study for a test or for a challenging class can be accessed quite easily via textbook or other resources. However, it is easy to get overwhelmed with so much information to sift through. Thats where I can help. When I meet with a new student, I try to understand how and in which areas I can help, and then I develop an individualized plan to help my student learn and get engaged with their study materials. We all learn in different ways, and it is my job to find out what is the best strategy to get my student to learn what he or she wants to learn. I create individualized study plans for each student and I ensure that my students get adequate practice time to apply what they have recently studied.I have over 5 years of tutoring experience in ACT/SAT examination prep with The Princeton Review, and of recent, I have tutored classmates in both math and science courses in preparation for their MCAT exams and during medical school. In the past, I have taught classroom prep courses with 15-20 students and small groups with 5-10 students in addition to individualized in home tutoring. It is my goal to see each one of my students realize their potential and I promise to work tirelessly to see them do just that.I want to see my students succeed, and I am very flexible to new ideas and new strategies to get my students to engage with new material. I am easy to reach and promise to provide quick responses to any questions. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to working with you!

Tutoring has been an extremely rewarding experience and my goal for every student is that they feel confident, learn key organizational skills necessary for success, and excel in every aspect possible.
Hello, From time to time most of us need a little help. I will do my best to help guide you through the subject that you are struggling with. I use a non lecture format and our sessions should feel more like conversation. By discussing the subject matter, you are more likely to retain the information.
I grew up in Northern Michigan and attended a very small school, but I moved to Miami as soon as I graduated and got my degree in Sport Management from Barry University in Miami.I'm a non-traditional teacher, probably because I was a non-traditional student. I have ADHD and always have, so I don't always approach education from a traditional perspective. I worked for the Florida Marlins and the Miami Heat before moving back to Michigan and opening a golf shop. When I had kids, I realized it was important to be that I be involved in education, in no small part because I wanted to make sure the school wasn't as awful for my kids as it was for me.I taught kindergarten for 4 years in North Carolina and then moved to Indiana to teach at a progressive charter school. When the school closed, I co-founded School for Community Learning in Indianapolis. In the past 4 years I've taught every grade, from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Though I've mostly taught middle school math and Kindergarten through 2nd Grade.I love working with kids who aren't getting the most from their abilities. Whether that's student with ADHD who haven't realized all the advantages that are part of that diagnosis or gifted students who have never learned to really slow down and work because they haven't really needed to, digging in and helping students do their very best is my idea of fun.I'm a sports nut. As I said, I worked in the front office for the Florida Marlins and as a scorer for the Miami Heat. While teaching in NC, I also was a sports reporter for the Fayetteville Observer. I have coached softball for 20 years. I coached volleyball for 6. I coach my kids' baseball teams. I am a die-hard Detroit Tigers, Pistons, and Lions fan, as well as a Michigan Wolverines fan. I play golf and, in truth, my favorite hobby is playing Strat-O-Matic Baseball.I'm a bit sarcastic and love to teach with humor, but I'm also currently working on my Masters in School Counseling, so I'm pretty good at knowing when to joke around and when to be serious and supportive.
I have enjoyed helping MSWs to successfully pass their licensing exams. My goal is to help you pass your LCSW exam so you can further your career. I look forward to hearing from you.

While teaching different levels of Reading and English; I am passionate about Reading comprehension. From determining meaning of words to responding to questions based on the passage. Working with struggling readers brings great satisfaction to the job. Helping students use context clues to determine the meaning of words or using phonics to increase their vocabulary or spelling is a treasure that struggling readers usually welcome to improve their reading levels. Reading is the foundation for a better future and a better life.
I have previous experience tutoring 5th grade students in math, science, and reading comprehension, in preparation for the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), which was a previous standardized test in the state of Texas. My students at that time consistently gave me feedback that they understood concepts that they were previously struggling with, after having a tutoring session with me.My educational background consists of completing a master's degree in clinical medical sciences (physician assistant studies) and completing a bachelor of arts degree in biology. I previously worked as a physician assistant for almost 2.5 years in the specialties of primary care and oncology, and truly enjoyed taking care of patients. I consider myself to be hardworking, patient, friendly, and great with children. Hello Everyone! My name is Jessica Morency and I'm so excited to be a tutor. A few things about me is I have a very bubbly personality, I have held multiple student leader positions throughout my education, and I have a deep sense of empathy. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in Social Work and I hope to work in a school district to create proper programs for children in unstable housing. My first ever teaching experience was as a Sunday School teacher in my church at the age of 14. From then I have volunteered in multiple Emerging Leaders programs where I have taught, mentored, and served young students in the community to be there better selves. I believe going the extra mile creates impactful memories that will serve us for a lifetime, and my goal with a student is to do just that. I hope you're willing to let me be apart of your journey.
As a lifelong educator, I know that all students can learn. It is important to make students active participants in their learning, to meet them where they are, and to focus on their strengths rather than their weaknesses to help them achieve their academic goals. I have a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology, a Masters in Early Childhood, and an Educational Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education with a cognate in Montessori Education. It is important to inspire students and get them interested in what they are learning.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kansas Wesleyan University, a Master of Science in Biomedical Science from Barry University, and a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Since earning my doctorate I have enjoyed a successful career as a chiropractor but crave further fulfillment. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I can teach people about their health. Although I have a vast knowledge base, my appetite for knowledge lies with biological sciences. The way our bodies and the world around us functions is astonishing and I can't seem to get enough of knowing about it. Many see science as boring and difficult to understand, but I agree with Richard Dawkins when he wrote, "the feeling of awed wonder that science can give us is one of the highest experiences of which the human psyche is capable." I am also a believer in the Socratic Method. Whenever I uttered a phrase akin to "I don't know," my parents would reply with, "figure it out." And so I did. I have an expansive list of interests and hobbies, too vast to list in its entirety. I will say that most of my interests lie in discovering, building, and exploring. I am often found working on DIY projects around the house, doing automotive repairs, hiking, reading, and even cross-stitching.

In 2004 I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science in Crime, Law, and Justice. I then went back to school at Barry University in Miami, Florida and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biomedical and Forensic Photography in 2012. I now work as a Forensic Photographer with the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Laboratory. Throughout my life, I have constantly helped out in my mother's elementary school classroom. I would read to her class and tutor those struggling in reading as well as math. Some of these students returned for tutoring all the way through middle school. In college, I tutored a student in the basics of photography. While I have worked with students in math, logic, reading, grammar, photography study skills, and more, math and logic are my favorites to tutor. I think the most important thing is to convey that learning can be fun. If it is fun, we are more inclined to do it! I love to play logic games, math games, and word games to learn in a new way. Additionally, learning different concepts' real-world applications can make a lesson more meaningful to a student. In my free time, I love to rock climb, run, take my dog to the park, read, do crossword puzzles, and play bass drum in my drum corps!

It encompassed many healthcare practices developed to sustain and restore an individual's health.I finally graduated with my MD degree. I could not imagine not being a part of such an exciting, exhilarating, and rewarding field as science and medicine.
I am deeply passionate about helping students because unleashing untapped potential is one of the greatest gifts one can bestow upon someone wanting to learn and better themselves. We are all capable of greatness, but each of us needs a different driving force or impetus to achieve that greatness, and I strive to be that catalyst. With grit, discipline, and consistency, realizing your potential is a doable goal. I've taught grade-school students in law school as well as tutored students in basketball youth camps, among other tutoring roles. I graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Florida International University and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Barry University. Education is the gateway through which anyone from anywhere can achieve their dreams--it is the true equalizer that imbues all of us with the opportunity to be greater. Catherine of Siena once said "Be who you are meant to be, and you will set the world on fire." Many of us may start as embers, but we can all become raging infernos under the right instruction. My favorite subjects to tutor are English, Science, History, and Math, with English and Writing foremost among them. I believe that if you can master the fundamental natures of English and Writing, then all other subjects become exponentially easier and manageable.

Every student has a different style when it comes to learning, so I would work with them and cater to that.I am very interested in learning about other cultures and thus love to travel. I have lived and studied abroad. One of my favorite things to do is to walk around the city and explore new places and various neighborhoods. I have made it my goal to visit all of the museums this year. I lead a very healthy life style and enjoy exercising 4-5 times per week.
