I am deeply committed to the education and well-being of students, and bring a high level of patience and acknowledgment of the intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of all students. As a mental health therapist I have a unique perspective to offer learners in the field of psychology and counseling, one which both informs and brings to life the concepts of the discipline. The clinical experience I have gained contributes to my work as an educator with a pointed focus on incorporating student wellness and education achievement, as well as augment student's learning

My interest in tutoring comes from my own positive educational experiences and from my love of learning. I believe that learning can and should be fun.As a communication professional, working with corporations and non-profit organizations, I understand how important it is to develop a solid foundation of reading and writing skills. Competence in vocabulary, reading comprehension, and the ability to organize and communicate facts and ideas is the basis for all learning. As the tutor, my role is to serve as a mentor providing access to information and opportunities for discovery and knowledge development. I believe it is important to make the tutoring session relevant to the students interests, therefore involving them in the process and creating excitement to learn. My tutoring approach is student-centered. Each student is unique. How do they learn? What is their motivation? What are their strengths and weakness? Do they need to improve study methods? Do we need to work on their approach to learning?By sharing my love of learning, I help my students build confidence and develop the skills to foster success throughout their education, career and life.
My name is Alison Jones and I am excited to work with you to provide quality tutoring and instruction. I hold a Masters Degree in Elementary and Special Education and have been an educator for over 20 years. I have taught all grades and ages.I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I set up a classroom in my home when I was very young and would spend all of my free time there pretending I was teaching. It has been a lifelong passion of mine and always will be one.I have 2 sons, ages 21 and 15. I also have 2 chocolate Labrador Retrievers that I adore. I enjoy spending my time with those I love, exercising and taking my dogs on long walks in the woods.I am excited to get to know more about you and help you achieve your goals!
My name is Dennis, but please feel free to call me DJ, my father is Dennis. I am a current Mathematics major at Carlow University. I plan to pursue a teaching degree post graduation. My big emphasis with teaching subjects is to make the lessons fun for the students. Teachers don't like to teach boring things, which is why I look for ways to intrigue the students to engage their learning abilities. Students tend to grasp the idea more when it is something they enjoy learning. I hope I can do that for any student needing tutoring.
My basic philosophy is that school learning and learning outside of school can complement each other to contribute the necessary skills to complete compulsory education.I've expanded my philosophy in that I believe online sites, social sites, and educational game-type learning should not be immediately dismissed due to fear of misuse, fear of inattentive students, and fear of oversaturation of their use.I think many learning software programs can be very beneficial to support student learning.
My goal is very simple: To help you write well. I will read through your writing, analyze one-time problems and repeat issues, then develop an individualized approach to help you (or your child) improve on these things.I believe in creating a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere for the student, but keeping focused on the assignment. I speak directly and pointedly so the student knows precisely what's wrong with the essay (and, most importantly, how to fix it). I also make sure that the student makes the corrections his or herself so they get the actual feel for writing something well. Good writing is not just about using correct grammar, it is about structuring an argument, persuading an audience and sounding eloquent; skills that will help student well into adulthood.I have an MFA in Creative Writing with my thesis being a full-length novel that was edited by a five-time Pulitzer Prize nominee. I have also been a Proofreader for ExpressScripts Medicare and a Research Assistant to a Princeton University historian, doing his fellowship with the James Madison Program.I'm a pretty avid record collector and music-lover. I spend the bulk of my day working at a local nonprofit and being disappointed by the New York Giants.
I am passionate about fostering a love for learning in every student I encounter. With a Master's degree in Education and over 2 years of tutoring experience, I specialize in Mathematics and Science. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel empowered to ask questions and explore concepts deeply. I believe that each learner has unique strengths, and I tailor my approach to meet their individual needs, encouraging growth and resilience. My dedication to nurturing lifelong learners is reflected in the positive outcomes I've seen in my students, who often develop confidence and curiosity beyond the classroom. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and exploring new educational technologies, which continually inspire my teaching practice.
As an instructor, I am as passionate about education as I am about quality patient care. In classroom and clinical settings, I desire to seek understanding of unique learning needs and adapt delivery presentations in a manner that appeals to multiple learning styles and fosters equality in learning and instructor access. In all of my clinical and educational activities, I am steadfast in acting with compassion and respect for individual dignity and value. I received my Associate Degree of Nursing from Westmoreland County Community College in 2011. Then received my Bachelor degree in 2015 and my Masters of Science Degree in Nursing Education in 2017 both from La Roche College in Pittsburgh, PA. Finally, I obtained my Doctorate of Nursing Practice 2019 from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA.

I have been in nursing since 2002 and an extensive background in critical care. As an NP, I have experience in internal hospital medicine, cardiology, and pediatrics.
