Whether a student needs help improving grades, preparing for exams, developing study skills, or gaining confidence in a subject area, I create personalized learning experiences designed to help them reach their goals. In addition to my classroom experience, I have served as a learning coach and instructional leader, helping teachers implement effective intervention strategies and data-driven instruction. I have extensive experience developing curriculum, utilizing research-based teaching practices, and integrating technology to make learning engaging and accessible. I hold a Master of Education degree, a Master of Law degree with a concentration in Alternative Dispute Resolution, and professional teaching licenses in Virginia, Missouri, and Colorado. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students succeed academically but also to develop the critical thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journey. I look forward to partnering with students and families to create a positive, supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

I obtained my Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University of Pueblo with a focus on ACS Certified Chemistry and Biology and my Pharm.D. from D'Youville College School of Pharmacy. During my time at CSU-Pueblo I taught general chemistry laboratory. I also tutored students in any of the chemistry courses offered at the school. I am most passionate about subjects pertaining to medicine and medications given my Pharm.D. background. However, I genuinely love all the sciences. I believe education is necessary for a full and well-rounded life. It is an honor to me to be able to help pass what I have learned on to others. I am a very outgoing person that loves to interact with others. I look forward to meeting new people on this platform and creating beneficial relationships.
I graduated from Colorado State University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering. I am certified as an E.I. and a P.E. Currently, I am working towards a master's degree in Social Work with a focus on Latinx communities at Boston College. The bulk of my tutoring experience comes from my time in the Peace Corps. I served as a Community Environmental Conservation volunteer in Panama from 2015 to 2018. I co-taught Science, Environmental Education, and English in a multi grade one room schoolhouse with students aged 5 to 12, I also tutored middle and high school students in English after school. I have also been a youth mentor and enjoy making connections with students and encouraging them in their academic journeys. I worked for four years as an engineer at a small municipality in the water quality group where I managed the water quality database and performed process optimizations for water and wastewater. While I no longer practice engineering, I am very passionate about water and wastewater treatment and processes and am most excited to help future engineers achieve their certifications. My philosophy around engineering exams is that while it is important to know how to do the problems, it is even more important to learn how to think about problem solving. In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, camping, and skiing. I love backpacking and always spend at least a week of the summer on solo backpacking trips.
"As a teacher with 10 years of tutoring and teaching combined, I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge with every student that I have the privilege to teach. In my 7 years of teaching AP and Honors Chemistry in the classroom, I have been able to apply real world applications to the often challenging subject matter. I create a relaxed environment where students can visualize the big picture and concepts rather than relying on memorization. In my early years starting in 6th grade I found math and science fascinating. I began to see the connection between these two subjects and how they are evident in our everyday lives. My interest grew as I went on to high school and college. Although these subjects are not always easy, I find they have deepened my application for the world around me. I am very passionate about teaching and my goal is to help each individual reach their potential. I am convinced that my enthusiasm and teaching style will assist to anyone who seeks my assistance."
