My passion for education began with my struggles learning to read and write. Overcoming those challenges showed me the life-changing power of learning, and I've been committed to helping others experience that same growth ever since. For over 20 years, I've supported learners through personalized instruction in literacy and creative writing, both in group and one-on-one settings. I've also trained staff in corporate environments, which strengthened my ability to break down complex information in clear, practical ways. As a parent of two sons, including one with Down syndrome, I also homeschooled for several yearsan experience that taught me the importance of patience, adaptability, and individualized learning. I specialize in tutoring reading, writing, and creative writingsubjects I love because they help students find their voice and build confidence. As a published writer of nonfiction, inspirational works, and fiction, I bring both professional insight and creative enthusiasm to every session. My teaching style is supportive and flexible, focused on meeting students where they are and helping them grow step by step.

My passion for tutoring stems from a deep-seated desire to help others grasp complex concepts that have shaped my own academic journey. With a Master's in Business Administration and a Bachelor's in Economics, I have successfully navigated all three levels of the CFA exam. I believe in fostering a supportive learning environment where each student's unique needs are addressed, allowing them to build confidence and achieve their goals. My experience in tutoring CFA subjects has taught me the importance of patience and tailored explanations, as I enjoy guiding students through their challenges and celebrating their successes. Witnessing that moment of understanding is incredibly rewarding, and it fuels my commitment to education.

I believe that each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulatingatmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. What I desire as an educator, is to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas byproviding an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking and invites a sharing of ideas. Inteaching higher education students, the use of multiple disciplines should be implemented suchas computers, video, audio, photographs, books and other current news resources as well as othertechnological advances, instead of relying solely on oral and written communication. If all ofthese tools are used in the classroom/virtual classroom, the learning environment takes on aproductive, diverse and creative approach where students can work together and use a variety ofresources in their guided pursuit of learning goals and problem-solving activities.I believe, as do the existentialists in free will, that a person determines his or her own futureand goals. The realists' philosophy lies in that whatever we believe now is only anapproximation of reality and that every new observation brings us closer to understanding reality.A teacher is responsible for all the consequences of their actions, and this educational role is toassist students in their personal journey. To self-discovery is having the opportunity to study things that are meaningful andchallenging to one's life and interests. Developing a curriculum around student interests fostersintrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn. One way to take learning in a directionrelevant to student interests is to invite student dialogue about the lessons and units of the study. From a transformational leadership approach, I deliver a scholarly resource that enables a studentto embrace the idea of utilizing his/her uniqueness for comprehending marketing skills, businesspractices, and effective management methods. If students are interested in something they'llwant to learn more about it and a great way to help them learn more is by engaging in atransformational teaching approach.

I am a non-traditional college graduate. I obtain my Medical Assistant certification in 2000. My career goals were to work for 5 years in a clinical setting, then go back to school. Life happen and I got off course a bit, but finally enrolled back in school in 2009. I am proud to say I completed and obtained my Bachelor in Health care Administration. It felt good to complete a educational goal I set and finished to show my daughter what hard work looks like for a single parent. I knew I wanted to obtain my Master's and once again I got off course, and did not want to miss my daughter's high school years. As a proud parent, "she is my world. She is currently enrolled in school to be a Specialty Physician." I did finally enroll again in school and obtain that Master's in 2018.I have worked in the educational sector since 2014 and I love helping students complete courses to help them also obtain his or her Medical Assistant certification. Even though I play a small role in helping each student the rewards are always a BIG accomplishment for us both.I also instruct Phlebotomy courses. I get really excited about locating the vein and getting a success stick.I have to quotes that I LIVE by:"Never suffer in silence."(ask as many questions as it takes to get a better of understanding to the best you can be)."What doesn't kill you makes you STRONGER"(Every day is a NEW start, keep pushing.)I enjoy music, it helps take your mind off the challenges in life.Dancing, helping you stay a healthier while having FUN.I am a Compassionate person that loves to help others.
