"Different is not a Disability" -- This has become my life motto. As a young child I was often sent to tutors because it seemed I could not learn during class time. My lack of learning was not due to lack of intelligence, but simply not understanding.I learn differently than most students, which is why I decided to tutor. I want to help others who are in my situation: students who are made to feel that because they learn differently they have a problem. As a teacher, I believe it is important to make sure students feel confident when doing their work.It is now my job in the role as teacher to make sure no child feels what I felt... alone. For me, becoming a tutor is much more than just a job. It is my mission to make sure at the end of each session my students feel they can do it. I want my students to understand being different and learning differently are not wrong. It's an honor, not a disability.

My name is Bangquan Huang, usually people just call me Jack. I am originally from China, but I moved to the US about 5 years ago. I love this country and everything about it, and therefore I have decided to stay here.I am currently a sophomore at Florida State College at Jacksonville, and about to graduate with my A.A. degree. In my freshman year, I got a job opportunity as a math tutor at my college. I have been tutoring math for 2 years since then. My job was majorly staying in the class and helping students who need help; I was an assistant to the professor. I loved it so much that I wanted to continue gaining new tutoring experiences. In the fall of 2016, I will be transferring to UNF for my accounting major. I can't wait for this new adventure. I like listening to music, working out, and helping students with Math.
My passion for teaching stems from a profound belief in the power of education to transform lives. Over the past decade, I've dedicated myself to guiding students through their learning journeys, whether it be mastering a new language or unraveling the intricacies of math and science. My experience ranges from one-on-one tutoring to classroom teaching, both in-person and online, allowing me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles. I received my educational foundation from the Florida State of Education, specializing in ESOL and Elementary Education (K-6th grade). I am currently furthering my knowledge at Florida State College of Jacksonville, where I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Education. My expertise lies in teaching English and Spanish, with a special affinity for tutoring young learners in these languages. The joy of watching a student grasp a new concept in a language class is unparalleled, and it drives my commitment to teaching. My tutoring style is adaptive, focusing on the individual needs of each student. I believe in creating a learning environment that is both supportive and challenging, encouraging students to explore their potential while providing the scaffolding they need to succeed. I incorporate interactive methods and real-world examples to make lessons engaging and relevant. Outside the classroom, I enjoy exploring the creative world of writing, both as an author and an avid reader. This love for storytelling and language enriches my teaching, as I bring elements of creativity and narrative into my lessons. Ultimately, my goal as a tutor is not just to teach but to inspire a lifelong love of learning. I look forward to being a part of your or your child's educational journey, helping to unlock the doors to new opportunities and achievements.
As a certified math and business teacher in Florida, I am passionate about empowering students to master mathematical concepts and improve their financial futures. My sessions are student-specific, learning through interactive conversations, note-taking, skill drilling, and test-style questions. Let's get learning! Before teaching, I placed trades and was a financial consultant at Merrill and Fidelity Investments. My business degrees include accounting technology, business operations, personal finance, and management. I previously held the series SIE, 66, 63, and 7, as a registered agent with FINRA. I love teaching students about math and finances. My unique background offers real-world insight for learning.
Everyone is created differently and has been given a special purpose by their Creator. Therefore, everyone has a different way of learning. Growing up in a military household, I was homeschooled most of my life. My father's teaching and auditory learning style was not what I needed in order to learn. I quickly learned that I was a visual learner. I needed information to be broken down, many times with the help of pictures, in order for me to comprehend the information. Once I entered college, my visual learning skills would benefit me greatly while earning my Associate of Arts and my Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences degree. I could take the information and explain it in its most basic form so that everyone could understand. I was recruited as a student tutor for Anatomy & Physiology my first semester of college. I started tutoring the following semester and fell in love with explaining educational material to students. I loved seeing the excitement in the student's eyes when the information finally made sense. I would eventually expand and tutor Spanish, English, and help with Biology as well. Being a tutor challenged me to be able to explain one concept in many different ways for the betterment of the student. My tutoring style is flexible and tailored to what is best for the student. For example, I have had students that prefer videos to help explain concepts while others prefer acronyms to remember the information. I am not afraid to try new teaching styles if it means that the student will be able to learn the material better. I have been tutoring with Varsity Tutors for over a year.
Recent graduate pharmacist with over 5 years of experience in instructing, facilitating, and tutoring students enrolled in developmental math courses and other college level courses. Each student I have assisted has successfully passed their course-specific exam(s) and transitioned into their area of study. Coupled with my servant leadership and strong interpersonal communication skills I believe I can surpass your expectations as your next tutor.
Education has always played a vital role in my life, it was stressed early on that the question wasn't "Are you going to college?", but instead was "Where are you going to college?". My parents made many sacrifices to send me to the best possible schools as a child, with the assumption that I would be the first in my family to ever go to college, and thus become a productive part of society. I would like to think that I proved my parents correct. Not only was I the first to attend college; but I took their challenge to heart and after finishing my Bachelor's degree, I decided to attain my Master's degree as well. To date, I am the only person in my family with a Masters'. I have high hopes however, that my children will surpass my educational goals. I mention this because I want others to realize just how passionate I am about education, and the difference that a good education can make, not only in one persons' life, but also in the lives of others around them. Honestly, without having a higher-education, I'm not sure how I would have survived as a single-parent. I was able to provide for my children in ways that I know for a fact that I would not have been able to do without the profession I attained due to my education. This passion is what has led me in my desire to teach.
I am a data driven educator equipped with the necessary tools to address the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring every child receives individualized support and instruction in order to achieve academic and social growth. I am committed to making a positive impact and empowering each student to reach their full potential.
