I am currently a Registered Professional Engineer in Oklahoma, USA. I am also a certified "Project Management Professional" by PMI. While I tutor a broad range of Civil Engineering and Math related subjects, I am most passionate about the topics in Geotechnical Engineering, Project Management and Math. (...Believe me, more than enough times) When I was struggling with my classes, I wish someone would teach me the subject (better than the school teacher/professor!), tell me the key points to study for the exams, and show me tricks to memorize formula or equations. Throughout many years in school, I've developed several ways to master the subjects and I want to pass it on to you.I self-studied GRE for a month and got a perfect score on the quantitative part. I am a geologist and science enthusiast with over 10 years of real world experience in the industry. I have tutored countless students since my undergraduate studies and have a passion for helping students succeed.

I have always loved math so when I went to college, a degree in engineering seemed like the perfect choice. After college I worked in the aerospace industry for 10 years as a systems engineer on several satellite programs. Although I enjoyed my job, I wanted to spend more time with my family. It was then that I discovered I absolutely love working with students. I became a part-time math teacher in a small private school, teaching everything from Algebra II to Calculus III. I love showing students different ways to approach a problem that helps them understand it. Helping them succeed is so exciting!

I am a graduate of Centre College of Kentucky with a BS in Applied Mathematics. I also have an MS and PhD in Statistics from Missouri University of Science and Technology. I had a long and fulfilling career teaching all levels of statistics at Truman State University in Missouri. Having retired in 2018, I taught high school mathematics and AP/dual credit statistics for 3 1/2 years at the high school I graduated from. It has been interesting "going back home." As I have taught a wide variety of courses, I particularly enjoy teaching and tutoring introductory statistics classes. I enjoy having the opportunity and challenge of making statistics accessible to a broad audience. I have also worked as a consultant to work directly with students who are preparing for the AP Statistics exam. It is rewarding to see them make connections and prepare for such a big exam. I know that education opened a whole new world for me as I graduated high school, left the family farm, and became a college professor. When I left home, I didn't know how to even dream for such a life. I am a strong proponent for understanding how a formula or process works (or "thinks") so that my students can formulate for themselves how to interpret its results. I constantly seek to find encounters for them with the concepts that I am teaching. When I am not teaching, I greatly enjoy photography and working with my hands on all kinds of different projects.
