One of the greatest joys that I find in learning is when I have the opportunity to share knowledge and enrich someone else's life. I have been tutoring for close to 6 years now, and I have been fortunate to have tutored in various age groups from elementary students and fellow colleagues. Although I am the tutor, I have as much to learn from you as you have to from me. So let's do it! Let us learn and grow together!Of note, I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bachelor of Science in Molecular-Cellular Biology and Chemistry. I am very passionate about science and mathematics. Up to date, I have taken almost every level of mathematics from Pre-Algebra to Differential Equations, and I have a plethora of science courses in Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics.

I'm a current medical student at Chicago Medical School and a previous graduate of The University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I also received my Masters degree in biomedical sciences from Rosalind Franklin University. I would like to tutor other students interested in medicine (MCAT tutoring) or students struggling to master STEP 1 material (second year medical students). I believe these two exams are two of the most stressful exams a student can take, but with a good study schedule and study habits, they are manageable. I am also interested in teaching younger students (elementary and middle school age) the basics of mathematics. A strong foundation of basic algebra is crucial for ACT or SAT preparation. Mastering these skills at a young age can set students up nicely for high school and beyond.

I have tutored biochemistry and pharmacology previously to doctorate students. Additionally, I have a lot of practice and work editing essays and preparing people for exams. My tutoring style is catered to your needs. Often times, I like to break things down and work with you for your individual needs and learning style. In my free time, you can catch me dancing, listening to music, streaming a show or a movie (comedy and horror are my favorite, but everyone loves a good drama), and many other things.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tutors connected through Varsity Tutors who graduated from or attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science have completed rigorous coursework in sciences, medicine, and healthcare fields. Many hold advanced degrees and have direct experience with the university's challenging curriculum, giving them deep expertise in subjects like biology, chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology that form the foundation of medical education.

Alumni tutors understand the specific academic standards and teaching style at Rosalind Franklin, which means they can guide you through coursework with insight into what professors expect. They've navigated the same challenging material and can share proven study strategies, time management techniques, and problem-solving approaches that worked for them in a rigorous pre-med or medical science program.

Tutors from Rosalind Franklin University excel in foundational sciences including biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, and cell biology. Many also have expertise in advanced topics like pharmacology, pathology, and medical microbiology, as well as test preparation for the MCAT, which is central to the university's pre-medical pipeline.

In your first session, a tutor will assess your current understanding of the material, identify specific challenges you're facing, and learn about your learning style and goals. This helps them create a personalized approach for future sessions, whether you need help mastering difficult concepts, preparing for exams, or building confidence in a particular subject.

Yes. Tutors who graduated from Rosalind Franklin University understand what it takes to succeed in pre-medical coursework and can help you excel in biology, chemistry, and other prerequisites. They can also provide guidance on MCAT preparation, study strategies for standardized tests, and insights into what medical schools look for—drawing from their own experiences in the application and admission process.

Personalized 1-on-1 instruction allows a tutor to focus entirely on your needs, pace, and learning style—something that's impossible in a classroom with 30+ students. A tutor can slow down on concepts you find challenging, skip material you've already mastered, and adjust their teaching method in real time, which research shows leads to significantly better learning outcomes than traditional classroom instruction.
