I am a professional musician with a passion for teaching music and math. My favorite part of tutoring is getting to know students and watching them achieve more than they thought was possible. I like to take the fear out of math and try to convince everyone that math is very fun and engaging.
I am currently a junior attending Rutgers University Business School. As part of the Honors College at Rutgers, my courses are generally higher levels than standard courses. I am working towards my Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Through work experience writing for the sporting website TheSportsQuotient, my writing skills are sharp and it is a subject that I enjoy teaching. I am in the process of writing my own series of short stories as part of my Senior Thesis. Through an official non-profit that I was a part of starting, I have experience tutoring and mentoring children in Newark, New Jersey. Through the non-profit, we met with students twice a week after school to help them with their school work as well as to teach them other life skills. As an assistant supervisor for North Brunswick Township Department of Parks and Recreational Services, I have worked with children ages 5-16 for five years now through after school programs and summer camp. Through my knowledge of a multitude of subjects, including Writing, Reading, History, Public Speaking, and others, I am confident in my abilities to help students excel. I also have knowledge in AP Testing as I have taken a variety of AP tests when I was in high school, including AP US History, AP Composition, and AP Literature.Outside of these academic environments, I enjoy watching and playing all sports, reading, and listening to music. My favorite sports to watch are football and basketball.
I entered the tutoring profession to help others achieve their full potential academically, professionally and personally. I believe that those three are interwoven because in order to succeed in one you have to strive and achieve in all.On a personal note I am an avid runner and reader. I enjoy the outdoors but I also enjoy those quiet moments after a busy day.
My journey as an SAT tutor began during my own high school years when I recognized the significance of standardized testing in shaping students' academic futures. Motivated to help others navigate this crucial process, I embarked on a mission to demystify the SAT and empower students to excel. Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of tailored instruction and mentorship.Through my extensive experience, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the SAT format, content, and scoring system. I utilize this knowledge to design personalized study plans that cater to each student's unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, I encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills essential for success not only on the SAT but also in their academic endeavors. In addition to my specialization in SAT tutoring, I have been fortunate to teach high school history, focusing specifically on AP US History. This dual role has allowed me to foster a holistic understanding of students' academic needs and aspirations. By integrating my knowledge of historical events, themes, and analytical frameworks into my SAT instruction, I offer students a unique advantage. I believe that by engaging students in lively discussions and providing them with historical context, I not only deepen their understanding of American history but also equip them with the tools to excel in the SAT's reading and writing sections, which often draw upon historical passages.

I am a recent graduate of Rutgers School of Law. I went to law school not with the intention of becoming a lawyer, but instead to gain the tools necessary to become a more effective advocate and teacher. I believe that the best form of advocacy is through education, specifically teaching.
I am attending Rutgers New Brunswick and pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science. Throughout my high school career, I actively engaged in multiple tutoring opportunities for my Science Honors Society. I was also a member of Human Who Incorporation where I crafted homework, tests, and presentation material for a variety of math subjects, along with PSAT reading and math sections. Additionally, my job at Kumon involved assisting students with their Math and English, along with grading both subjects. While I tutor in a range of subjects, my personal favorites are Math, History, and Science. Beyond tutoring, my own employment of a variety of study methods from blurting to note-taking will allow me to guide students in finding effective strategies for their learning. Overall, while I strongly believe in the transformative power of education, I am also familiar with the struggles one meets along the way and hope to help my students overcome these and have a successful academic journey.
Playing with Numbers since 2000.
I am a graduate of Rutgers University where I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, American Intercontinental University where I received a Master's in Instructional Technology, and completed all of my coursework and currently completing my dissertation for a PhD in Educational Technology at Walden University. I have worked in several major corporations as an Instructional Designer and Curriculum Designer before moving to Primary and Secondary Education. I am a published researcher in the area of utilizing technology with at- risk learners and designed an award winning tutoring system called One2One Mastery. I founded a successful company that provided diagnostic assessments and tutoring in 14 states with over 400 employees, primarily educators, and thousands of students as part of the "No Child Left Behind" program. I also founded a non-profit company that still provides hot meals, enrichment activities, and after school tutoring for underprivileged children. My philosophy is that "every child can learn if provided with proper instruction, the right tools and enough time". While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the basics of Reading, Writing and Mathematics. My instructional foundation is Mastery Learning and Critical Thinking with a great deal of experience helping struggling learners. I believe a student with talent may be successful but if you build a student's self-confidence and self-esteem, they will strive to succeed on their own; first for you, then for themselves. I am a lifelong learner and love learning. It is that love of learning that I strive to impart with my students.
I am a fourth-year medical student at New York University School of Medicine. As a soon-to-be physician, I have vast experience talking to patients about complicated medical conditions, treatments, medications and various diseases. It is my job to make sure that they understand what I am talking about in a way that allows them to explain it to others. I believe this is one of my best qualities to work as a tutor; the ability to mold concepts to in a way that others are able to comprehend them with ease. I have had many years of teaching experience, which has varied in many ways throughout my life. When I was a teenager, I worked as a swimming instructor for children ages 3 to 12. This allowed me to foster a specific teaching technique where I patiently worked with my students to dissipate their fears (like the fear of water), and build the trust needed for them to allow me to explain very complicated concepts in a way that they'll understand it. I used this technique later in college while I tutored fellow classmates and other college students various subjects, including: math, chemistry, physics, Spanish and biology. After college, I worked as a middle school and high school tutor, teaching math and sciences to children in East Orange, New Jersey. In addition to my teaching experience, I graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a GPA of 3.8 and a bachelors in both Chemistry and Spanish. As a chemistry major, I feel confident teaching chemistry and organic chemistry. As a medical student, I also feel confident teaching MCAT preparation, physiology and anatomy. I am a native Spanish speaker and studied Latin American and Spanish-Language literature extensively, so I am very comfortable teaching Spanish for any level of proficiency. Lastly, as a native Spanish speaker I also feel comfortable teaching English-as-a-second-Language (ESL) as well as TOEFL preparation.

I've travelled the world mentoring students in Japan, forging houses in India, founding soccer programs in Costa Rica, and graduating teen moms in Texas. Education has captured my attention the world over. I'm eager to keep my hand in the field with Varsity Tutors. My other passions find me out on the pitch, drenched at Barton Springs, or languid in a Netflix puppy pile.

I carry a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and I'm applying to dental school. I'm a tutor at my university's learning center and have experience as a chemistry lab teaching assistant. My favorite aspect of tutoring is being able to relieve a student of their worries and assure them that they're completely capable of comprehending the material if they simply dedicate enough time to practice. I myself, was an average student in high school, however once I got to university I really applied myself and worked hard to get to where I'm at now. I started out taking basic classes and constantly going to the tutoring center as well as my professors' office hours. Building a solid base in these lower level courses helped me understand more difficult material in higher level classes to come. Once I started to take higher level science classes I was towards the top of the class in subjects like chemistry and physics (classes have 100-200 + students). Building a solid understanding of the basics is the key to success. I tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, algebra and test prep for the DAT. I especially enjoy tutoring chemistry which I view as being the central science in understanding the fundamentals of how the universe works at the smallest level. I can confidently help students with the DAT having scored well myself (I can provide documentation of my score). When I tutor a student I first like to hear from them what they understand and then build from there. I find this is efficient because we don't spend time on something he/she already understands and can dedicate time to learning new information. I then like to walk them through an example or two and supervise them while they attempt some problems on their own. I truly look forward to working with you and just remember that you're capable of doing anything you put your mind to!
I am a second year Graduate student at the Rutgers University Business School, pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Throughout my career, I have spent time tutoring students in the fields of Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. I enjoy working with these topics as they are prevalent in "every-day" life; for example, as a manager I have used these concepts to effectively monitor staff and inventory. My experiences, combined with my current MBA curriculum, have greatly enhanced my ability to tutor students who may be struggling with these topics. As a middle school student, I found Mathematics difficult and overwhelming. However, an eight-grade algebra teacher fueled my passion for the subject by making it fun, interesting, and easy to understand. As a tutor, I feel that it is my obligation to transfer that passion to each of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, discovering new music, working out, and cooking.
I have a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics. With this background it has trained me to think differently. It has also taught me that there is no one right way to do something. I developed a love for tutoring when I was in high school working with my mom at her tutoring center. I was also a manager in college working in the student centers. So I know that everyone does not learn or communicate the same. My challenge was finding the best to demonstrate what was needed based on their learning style. I love challenges and my goal is to demystify math for your learner.

I have a PhD from Rutgers University in Biomedical Engineering/ Neuroscience. Before that, I earned a BS in Biomedical Engineering/ Electrical Instrumentation from New Jersey Institute of Technology (Albert Dorman Honors College).Through my years of academic studies, I have gained an extensive background in mathematics, biological, and physical sciences. French and English are both my native languages as I was born and raised in Cameroon, Africa. After graduating high school with a baccalaureate in mathematics, I moved to the USA and obtained a bachelor degree in Biology/pre-med. I am currently a grad student in a biochemistry and molecular biology program.Being bilingual has giving the opportunity to work as translator, interpreter, ESL teacher as well as French tutor. However, my passion for teaching comes being a TA ( teacher assistant) and Peer Tutor at my university. The responsibilities of these two positions include teaching a lab under the the professor's supervision as well as doing one-on-one tutoring for students.I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm about my language and find very rewarding to see children and adults developingconfidence and being able to communicate in French after I have helped them. I can't describe in words what a rewarding feeling it is to see my students exceeding after only a couple of sessions with me, whether it be in Biology, Mathematics, and Writing.
Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed working with children. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a young child discover that they have just learned a new skill. It's an appreciation that is unmatched. I have taught multiple grades in multiple settings. I understand and teach various differentiation methods. My goal is always to enable children to grasp the foundational knowledge and skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. A good education, in my belief, is the single most important thing we can impart to the younger generation.
I am a Juris Doctor. I have been tutoring for more than 10 years. I have worked with children of all ages (K-12) and tutored junior high and high school students in various subjects including math, history, social studies, English, and science. I can also help students prepare for tests such as the SAT and the LSAT.
The students I teach have had a varied experience with the writing process: some have had very positive experiences over the years and come to me with strong skills; others have not met with much success in the past as far as their writing goes, so they exhibit a lack of confidence. No matter where on that scale they may be when they arrive in my session, my goal for all of them is to help them become better writers and communicators than they were when they first came to me. I believe that all students are capable of producing well-organized, clear, insightful writing--it is just a matter of recognizing and honing each student's particular strengths.
As someone with a physical and reading disability, I find it important to make learning accessible to everyone. I have a BA in psychology and a MS in computational biology (with a focus on neuroscience) from Rutgers University. After receiving my Masters degree, I taught an Intermediate Algebra course and a Cell Membranes course at Rutgers. At the same time, I was tutoring psychology and neuroscience at the University's Learning Center, where I came across students with a wide range of learning styles and strengths. I try to adopt a strengths-based approach to tutoring and teaching, spending time outside of tutoring sessions breaking down concepts to match students' needs. Outside of academia, I spend a lot time writing music and singing, in order to express my emotions and experiences in life.

The greatest victory in life is not success the first time trial but getting up each time you fall. I have learnt a lot in life overcoming and adjusting in life when it comes to career and my dream of becoming a successful college professor in the near future. My career has seen a lot of challenges, most likely family challenges which has pressured me of prioritizing my family goal over my career goal. However, my determination, persistency and focus always motivates me to continue to pursue my career goal of becoming a successful academia, giving back to the society that has help me to achieve my goal in life.It all started when I match into a psychiatry residency at Metrohealth hospital in Cleveland Ohio some few years back. I was excited and happy to continue my dream to become a License physician. However, after completing my intern year, I have to make a choice of choosing between my career goals and help my family to take care of my sick father who at that time suffers from complications of multiple stroke and became quadriplegic. As the eldest child among 2 other younger siblings, I have no choice but to take that step of taking care of my father and suspend my career for the mean time. Unfortunately, my father died from his medical complication and I vowed to him to complete my professional goal of becoming a successful lecturer.I have chosen to lecture in biological sciences because my experiences in life has conceptualize my success in this field. When I left residency to take care of my father in New Jersey, I worked with several physicians, hospitals and taught whenever I get the time so that I can be up to date with my clinical and academic skills. I have also work as a clinical research assistant, coordinator and associate in various discipline including oncology. I am currently working as an adjunct Professor teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology and Immunology for almost two years now at two different colleges in Ohio. I plan teaching pathology in the next coming semester before getting back to residency in next June, 2018.I am pretty sure I have excel in teaching various biological sciences due to the many clinical, research and academic experiences that I have acquire through all these years. Clinically, I have work and rotate in various medical and hospital institutions as well as taught in colleges for over two years in ohio state. My experience as a medical intern at Metrohealth gives me a greater advantage due to my rotations in various specialties including family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine and so on. My research experience as a therapeutic or diagnostic research coordinator and associates gives me a greater tool in dealing with various pathological diseases. Moreover, my experience in the academic sector as adjunct professor to pre-medical, nursing and other health care students of various discipline gives me the upper hand of successfully completing a medical residence. In other words, my vast experience indicates a meticulous person that pays attention to details, and persistence in solving complex cases. In addition to this I am also a fast learner and can adjust to situation very early and easily. I remember when I was hired on the Sunday as an adjunct professor for Anatomy and Physiology and had to start work the next day on the Monday. I quickly adjust to the situation and so far excelled in the field as an instructor.I was able to quickly adjust as an Instructor in college within the short time frame due to effective organization, team-work spirit and good leadership role. Henceforth, this always reflect on the students' success rate primarily due to good teamwork and organization on the part of the faculty members. In the past I have always tried my best going to several conferences or seminar just to acquire knowledge. I once went to a conference in Texas with my lead instructor to see the effective way of using current technology such as I-pad and social media to encourage studies in the younger population. Finally, I will like to use this medical training acquired during residency to pursue further research studies and teach future health professional. Moreover, these prehealth students will need help in inculcating the right clinical, professional and academic attribute in their medical training. Henceforth, looking towards the future, I will like to be in an environment that will encourage biological sciences education.

Hi! I'm a recent Rutgers graduate with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a double major in Economics. I am currently working towards Law School. Over the past 5 years I've been tutoring for Varisty Tutors along with serving as a learning assistant for college level engineering physics. I've taught everything from SAT prep to advanced economics to Calculus. I believe in encouraging students to enjoy the subject rather than be forced into it. Once they build confidence in an area they will start to like the topic better and I hope to achieve that through working on the concepts and its practice problems as opposed to just aimlessly doing questions. In my spare time I like to play tennis, play guitar and workout with my friends.
