I went to college initially not knowing what I wanted to do with my life; I came out a horticulturalist. I worked at a vineyard, owned by a family who then opened up a winery, so I then became a winemaker. I had a blast and was successful, but about five years into my career I had to stop and reevaluate my life. Was this really what I wanted?I was about twenty-four when I decided I wanted to really figure out what I wanted. It was difficult. I had to do some real soul searching. At twenty-five, I quit my job as a winemaker and moved back to Houston, close to my family. I toyed with a few different ideas, but I finally figured out what I really want. I want to teach.Since then, I have been enrolled as an intern with the Texas Teachers of Tomorrow program, working toward obtaining my teaching certificate to teach high school math. I am currently working as a substitute teacher for the Conroe school district.
