Hello. My name is Kevin, I am a law student and a paralegal. I am excited about opportunities to help people and teaching has always been one of my passions. Inevitably, I always find myself drawn to academia and I think this is just an extension of that desire. I can't wait to help you succeed.

I am a grad student in Speech-language Pathology. I have been tutoring in college and graduate level writing for four months and a lover of school for as long as I can remember. I'm excited to help you, as best as I can, be a better student. Bring it on!
Eastern University can be accredited for showing me the wonders in teaching. After receiving my Master of Education degree I started teaching in an urban city's public school system. I currently teach fifth grade where the students excite me with their wit and enthusiasm. I look forward to working with students because I learn just as much them as they do from me. That's my philosophy of education: students and educators coexist as learning partners. The learning is reciprocated on both ends. Students are given the necessary tools to make inquiries and then apply different learning methods to give solutions to their own inquiries.
Hello there! My name is Rebecca. I'm 23 years old and I attended Temple University where I received my Bachelor's degree in French Language and a writing certificate specializing in creative writing. If you think about it, most people go to school for about 17 years of their life. It's nearly impossible for one student to master each and every subject they are taught while in school, and I have a clear understanding of that. I strongly believe that everyone learns differently, so it's crucial for a tutor to be adaptable and to be able to approach a subject with many angles. I also think that patience is key - everyone learns at a different pace. I also want to be as helpful and effective as possible. We only have an hour which tends to go by quickly, so let's take advantage of it! I want to end our session with a smile on your face and a confident feeling that you know and understand the material.
I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Temple University with a strong passion for helping others learn and build confidence in difficult subjects. Throughout my academic experience, I have developed strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills, especially in mathematics, physics, and engineering-related coursework.
I am a first year medical student who is excited to teach others! I would love to help anyone who needs help with tutoring in the sciences or SAT prep. I have a very flexible schedule so I am willing to work around other students' schedules. I can't wait to help!
I am a skilled mentor and teacher. As an attorney, I currently handle sustainability law, environmental law and contracts. I have experience with developing mission sustainability plans for U.S. military bases that enhance long-term sustainability of testing and training operations. I have developed workshops and educational programs on goal setting, plan implementation, and stakeholder development. I have presented at national conferences on the topic of climate change adaptation planning and water management planning in water-stressed areas. I have also volunteered as an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador for the state of New Jersey and assessed the health of neighborhood streams in the Rancocas Creek Watershed, taught in the classroom and educational workshops on a variety of environmental issues, and trained citizen volunteers of all ages in the science of stream monitoring. In college, I was a member of the ROTC program. Upon graduation, I was commissioned as an officer in the Army. My military stint included a tour of duty in the Republic of Korea.
From the track to the classroom, the boardroom to the community, I have always been driven by one thing: the pursuit of potential. As an athlete, I know the power of discipline, resilience, and pushing past limits. As an entrepreneur, I embrace creativity, calculated risks, and the thrill of turning ideas into impact. As a teacher and mentor, I find purpose in guiding others to discover their strengths and chart their own paths to success. And as a lifelong learner, I never stop asking questions, seeking growth, and challenging myself to be better than I was yesterday. I believe that true success isn't measured just by personal achievements but by the lives we touch along the way. Whether I'm coaching an athlete, inspiring a student, advising a startup, or simply offering a word of encouragement, my mission is to help others unlock their potential and create meaningful change. In everything I do, I bring energy, passion, and an unshakable belief that everyone has the ability to achieve greatness. The challenge? Helping them see it for themselves. That's where I come in.
I have been an educator and mentor, and taught mathematics for well over 15 years, and am motivated to continue teaching students to reach the highest level they can achieve!
I am a graduate from Temple University with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts in Psychology. I've worked children and teens as a Teen Leadership Assistant and in work study. I love working with children of all ages and helping them gain that a similar spark for learning that I obtained as a youth. I aspire to share my knowledge and maybe even learn a little from those who I tutor. My future aspirations consist of pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administration and Counseling. I have a love for being well-rounded and flexible.
I received my BA from Temple University with a major in Philosophy and my long term career goal is to obtain a PhD in Philosophy so that I can teach at the collegiate level. I have a strong background in academic writing as well as creative writing. I was the Director of Education at the Curio Theatre Company for a number of years, and I now work there part time as a theatre teacher. Regardless of the subject matter and the age group, I am always excited to do whatever I can to help others learn.
I am a graduate of Temple University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Education, focusing on both Special and Regular Education. I hold a teaching certificate for the state of Pennsylvania in both of those areas. Since graduation, I have substitute taught, I have worked as a classroom aid through Extended School Year, I have had my own 5th and 6th grade classrooms, and I have worked in a daycare setting as a pre-school teacher. When I am teaching or tutoring, I think it is important that my students reach the answer or conclusion on their own, with only as much assistance as they need from me. I myself can take some time to learn new things, so I know how important it is to be patient and supportive through the learning process. I believe that learning should be a very enjoyable thing to do, and that everyone should have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and discover new things that they can enjoy learning about for a lifetime. I do yoga and take walks on a daily basis, I love to be outside in the fresh air. I also enjoy sewing, knitting, and making fun crafts with felt.
Hi, I am a senior at Temple University majoring in Actuarial Science. I love math and helping others learn math has always been a passion of mine!Outside of tutoring, I love listening to music, going to the gym and hanging out with friends when possible.
I went to Ohio State University and graduated with a bachelor of science in Mathematics! I love math, because as Kady explains in Mean Girls, I like math because it is the same in every country. I know a lot of people hate math, and I am here to try to change their minds...math is really great if you give it a try.I have tutored throughout high school and college my tutoring style involves being patient and going at your pace.Outside of academia, I am interested in yoga and traveling (I have been to 7 countries and am trying to add more whenever possible!)

If you're looking for someone fun and energetic to help you with test prep, math, French, or social sciences, I am your gal! I am currently a junior at Temple University majoring in Sociology with a minor in French. After I graduate, I hope to attend law school. I am originally from New Hampshire, so I love all outdoor activities like hiking, playing sports, and running. Since moving to Philadelphia, I have been enjoying exploring everything the city has to offer because I really am a city girl at heart.I believe that everybody is unique, so I try to adapt my tutoring style to fit every student's individual needs and personality. I try to connect the material to the real world because when you can relate to what you are learning you will understand and enjoy it more. With my help, we can turn a once dreaded subject into something manageable and even fun!Previously, I was a volunteer test prep tutor with a non-profit. This organization provided free tutoring and college counseling to under-served, urban youth. This was an amazing experience and allowed me to use my tutoring abilities to give back to the community. I also grew up volunteering at a non-profit summer camp, so I am not afraid to get a little goofy while getting the job done.Hope to work with you soon!

After nearly forty years as a trial attorney, it is time for me to move to a new phase of my career. Education is not really a ???new phase??? as trying a case to a jury is primarily an educational activity where the classroom is the courtroom. More than anything, a lawyer trying a case is a teacher.Additionally, having taught in a classroom, I know the profound rewards of inspiring older and younger students to become more than they were before they entered. Teaching is about the future. Each student with whom I work gets a learning program specifically geared to his or her needs and goals. As we work together, those goals and needs may change and the student and I will adjust accordingly. The way a student learns best is as unique as their fingerprint and that is the way my instruction is developed for each student.
Hello! I am here to help :) I am one of those few folks who thinks Math is fun. I see math problems as puzzles that can be solved, we just have to do more thinking than with a typical puzzle. I am most confident with Algebra 1 & 2 and Geometry, so if you find yourself struggling in those areas, I could be of some assistance.I am a 20 year old Architecture student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I take interest in all types of design and art. I, myself, am a visual learner; I understand the struggle of not being able to grasp content simply because you just cannot see it. I hope for my artistic background to be of helpful use for students who need that visual component.I am very patient and encouraging. I believe in you so that you can build the confidence to believe in yourself!
To start, I am a mom and I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy biking (bicycles), cooking new meals, scrap booking and going out to lunch or dinner with my friends. I also advocate for children who are not receiving the proper services in the school system. I am passionate about children receiving what they need to be successful from the school system. Academically, I have earned three master degrees over the years. One is in business and the other two are in the field of psychology; School Psychology and Educational Psychology. I have spent a number of years working in the public school system as a school psychologist. I thoroughly enjoy working with children to help them achieve a level of success with their academics. I like to use a multi-model approach to tutoring which includes your typical paper and pencil work, computer based learning tools, hands on strategies and discussion based learning. I believe for a student to remain engaged and active in their own learning they have to enjoy it to some degree. The teaching has to be interesting, engaging and have some level of fun tied to it. The teacher/tutor needs to know their student(s) and what their learning styles are in order to create the most effective strategies. I believe a reward system is very helpful for students who have a very low level of motivation to do their school work. It can be a very simple system which does not require spending lots of money, if any. I thoroughly enjoy working with children with special needs and various learning disabilities. My background is in the field of special education and I am well versed on a variety of interventions that prove successful with students. I have worked with students at all levels and have learned that a one's confidence level plays a large part in their success. When one feels confident about themselves and their ability to learn the material they seem to progress a bit quicker than those who struggle with self-confidence. I will help to build your child's self-confidence as they learn. It can be a fun experience and something your child looks forward to instead of dreading doing their school work. I look forward to working with you and your student(s).
I teach theatre and creativity at Temple University, Rowan University, and Stockton University. As a mentor of creative artists and scholars, I love helping students to develop skills and practices that allow them to communicate and organize their ideas in the strongest, most effective ways.So many intelligent students haven't mastered the techniques required for academic writing. It's something that all instructors in higher education struggle with. Fortunately, anyone can learn how to take ideas and sculpt them into a compelling, concise, and elegant paper. As someone who grades dozens of essays every week, I'm excited to help you develop writing abilities that will help you in virtually all of your academic coursework.Need help with that college application essay? I would love to sit down with you and not only make sure that your submission is error-free, but also give you ideas for generating creative content that expresses your unique story in a way that will catch the eye of your target institution. My passion is helping students learn to create, to generate solid and perhaps groundbreaking work. Regardless of your field, the ability to communicate your ideas will free you to maximize your potential.
Currently I am a graduate student pursuing a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Massachusetts Boston. This semester, I have the opportunity to teach a course called "Concepts of Community", which explores how we conceive and understand the communities which we are all a part of. This is is not the first time that I will be teaching college students, prior to moving to Boston, I was an adjunct professor at Temple University in the Geography and Urban Studies Department. Temple University is also where I earned my MA in Geography and Urban Studies. Along with college students, I have worked with high school students. Upon graduating college, I worked as a substitute teacher, providing students with assistance whatever subject they have me working on for that day. Furthermore, there have been cases where I was in charge for classes where the teacher was absent for an extended period of time. Along with substitute teaching, I had the opportunity to work with young people through Temple University's Information, Technology, and Society Research Group's (ITSRG) BITS program. BITS (Building Information and Technology Skills) enabled me to teach young students from Philadelphia about urban planning, sustainability, and geographic information systems (GIS).While my focus is on social sciences, I do have experience helping students understand math and other quantitative I disciplines. My job as a tutor is to help the student understand not only what they need to learn, but why they need to learn it. I want help students become motivated in their academic careers.
I am a versatile Journalist who edits an established regional Chinese newspaper in the Philadelphia area.At Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, in China, I was a merit student with experience leading my student council and the university's orchestra. In Philadelphia, I earned my Master of Journalism degree at Temple University. I owe my knowledge to the great Teachers and entrepreneurs of American journalism and to those whom I interviewed, observed and documented. Now I want to pass my knowledge and experience on to my students.I am at the border of worlds, between China and America, between traditional journalism and new media, and between the growing-up and the grown-ups. I can teach Chinese language and communication skills to anyone who is interested. I can also prepare students for harder challenges such as the GRE.My philosophy for teaching Chinese focuses on communication. A lesson in Chinese should help you not only know more about the language, but also widen your horizons. I'd like to help students to master enough skill to generate communicable contents so that people can understand them and be impressed. You can learn how to start a conversation, write something powerful, making an encouraging speech, or even produce a multimedia project.
I believe that teaching is not just a profession, but a calling. It requires dedication, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. I am committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
I am a graduate of Temple University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. Since graduation, I traveled back home to the British Virgin Islands to be with my family and to give back to my home community. For three years, I taught at a private secondary school focusing on 11th and 12th grade biology, chemistry and mathematics as well as 10th grade Integrated Science. I have tutored various students in statistics, algebra, trigonometry and geometry but my passion is teaching biology and chemistry. I believe that the true goal of education is to build intelligence and character. I always look for the best in my students. I make learning fun by using the best approach in a given situation to boost the learning capacity in my student. One of my greatest and proudest accomplishments is that after teaching and prepping my students for the Caribbean Secondary Education Council, a two year process, they were all able to attain 100% passes. I enjoy playing basketball, discussing football, writing poetry and prose and a little bit of video gaming.
I believe that anyone can be great at anything they do they just need the right amount of preparation, the methods of learning that work best for them and the right amount of drive to succeed.
I have spent the better part of fifteen years working inside higher education first as an admissions and enrollment professional across a range of institutions, from large R1 research universities to small private colleges and Hidden Ivy-caliber schools, and later as a consultant and strategic partner to colleges and universities navigating the increasingly complex world of student recruitment. That career arc has given me something I think is genuinely rare in college admissions coaching: I've sat on both sides of the table. I've worked across both undergraduate and graduate admissions including MBA programs shaped recruitment strategy, and worked with prospective students and families at some of the most consequential moments of their lives. I understand what admissions officers are actually looking for not as a theory, but as someone who has lived it. What I've found, in every role and at every institution, is that the students who stand out in the process are almost never the ones with the most impressive rsums. They're the ones who have learned to tell their story honestly and specifically who they are, how they think, and what they're reaching toward. That's a skill that can be taught, and it's one I'm passionate about developing in the students I work with. My approach to essay coaching is direct and collaborative. I ask hard questions. I push students past the safe, generic drafts toward something that actually sounds like them. And I bring to every session a genuine understanding of what's waiting on the other end of that application the reader, the committee, the decision because I've been in that room. I'm excited to bring this experience to Varsity Tutors and to the students who are ready to do the real work of finding their voice.

I am an undergraduate student at Temple University. I am currently working toward a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and am particularly interested in automotive engineering. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my favorites are general physics and algebra. In helping students prepare for the ACT, I am particularlly helpful in the math and science portions of the exams. I personally stress the foundations of any subject, due to the confusion in basic building blocks of knowledge compounding at higher levels. My hobbies and interests include lifting weights, watching football and learning about new technology in my free time.

I am a book worm! I think language is interesting and that studying it can give us unique insights to the ways people behave and interact.
I believe that all students possess the ability to learn new skills when the lesson is individualized. I will work with your student's strengths and support them through their weaknesses. Together we will reach their academic goals.

I recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in European History, and I'm currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Temple University. I love working with children and young adults, and I'm thrilled to be spending some time tutoring this spring.Last semester, I taught one section of Analytical Reading and Writing to freshmen at Temple. I have experience helping high school students with writing and algebra and middle school students with general homework and study skills. I have also worked one-on-one with several students in West Philadelphia through a student-run program at Penn. In addition, I have two years' experience teaching a Sunday school class at my church and nearly ten years of babysitting experience. While I tutor in a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about reading, writing, and history.I am currently the editor of Temple's online literary magazine and the Kelly Writers House Junior Fellow, a position through which I have created and curated several literary events. Hi there! My name is Aartee, Im a sophomore at Temple University, and I absolutely love literature, writing, and grammar. My love of English started when I was young; my parents fostered an early appreciation of reading from when I was three years old. I quickly became an avid bookworm, and I would read anything I could get my hands on. My affinity for reading followed me throughout my education, English has always been my favorite subject, and I took A.P. Writing and Composition and Advanced Literature in high school. I went to a college preparatory high school, so I am well versed in ACT and SAT standardized test prep. I started Temple University in the fall of 2016 as an English major, and have taken four college level literature classes to date.My experience with teaching began in high school. During my sophomore year of high school as part of my Girl Scout Gold Award I visited my grade school to teach students about the environment through a hands-on garden planting project. I worked with preschoolers to eighth graders, and it was through this project that I discovered I wanted to teach. Towards the end of my senior year of high school, I taught eighth grade students English and Math through a high school literacy program. After graduating high school, I took a year off in between graduating high school and starting college, and throughout that year I freelance tutored high school aged students in ACT and SAT prep. My most recent teaching experience has been with Temple Universitys Jumpstart Readers Program during the Spring 2017 semester. I volunteered with this program twice a week at a local preschool, and worked with students on fundamental literacy skills. This coming Fall 2017 semester I will be serving as a Jumpstart AmeriCorps member in between class.I am a dedicated and passionate tutor who understands the value of patience and communication. I have worked with a myriad of different students, and I recognize that different students have different needs, and that no two students learn the same way. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, and I would love to be your tutor! :)
