I received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary and soon followed that with a Masters degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction. I am certified in early childhood through 6th grade teaching as well as an English as a second language instructor. I currently teach prekindergarten for the Arlington ISD however, prior to my prekindergarten position I was an English as a second language intervention teacher for Advantage Academy in Grand Prairie, assisting students from kindergarten through middle school. I have also worked with middle school students as an English as a second language education aide. As and ESL interventionist and ESL education aide, I was able to assist students with understanding instruction in their classrooms as well as provide strategies for teachers for ESL instruction. Even the majority of my prekindergarten students are ESL students and for that reason, I continually use music, songs, and visuals to assist in my instruction as well as fun games to help with learning. I love to teach reading and writing as these are subjects areas necessary for all other subject areas but I have also developed a love of math. I have a son that is ADHD and never felt he got the quality of education he should have and that is one reason I went back to school to become a teacher. I am passionate about doing as much as possible for all of my students, to help them achieve academic success.

I am passionate about helping students succeed and excel in their studies. While getting my undergrad in English from the University of Texas at Arlington I was a writing tutor for college students, many of whom were foreign students still new to the language. I loved helping all of my students succeed in their classes, become better writers, and helping improve their confidence. My philosophy for tutoring is that I believe my sessions should be client led; that is, the client calls the shots and I am an impartial reviewer. I will ask what the student wants to focus on in the session and we will collaborate on mutually agreeable changes to the document. I won't overstep my place as a tutor- this is their essay, sometimes personal in nature, and I will be fair and nice!

I have been tutoring most of my life. I tutored several years at the colleges I've attended and privately. I've helped the students understand the foundation of math. I've also explained new methods that were being introduced. Academia is constantly changing the way that math problems are being solved. I stay abreast with the changes by constantly learning and increasing knowledge. The best thing I can do for my students is to give them the best comprehension of the material. I have many tips and tricks that help my students not only figure out the problems but remember how to do them when taking tests. I feel one factor for passing any class is for each individual to believe they can pass it. By entering into a course with a positive mindset they will not only relieve stress and test anxiety but will also be confident with the subject matter. I've tutored many students of all ages and believe I can help any student succeed. When given the opportunity to tutor, I will help my students thrive.

I am a recent PhD graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), where I also received my Bachelor of Science in Physics. I studied the physics of solid matter as it pertains to materials for solar energy applications. Throughout my program, as well as my undergraduate career, I had a tendency to form and lead study groups, which helped me instill the subject matter of my courses through teaching and debate, and ensured my academic success. During my undergraduate career, I worked at the Physics Clinic, where I tutored technical physics 1 & 2. During my graduate career, I thought modern physics and electronics labs, worked as a math and physics tutor at the local community college, taught SAT math for a non-profit organization, and gave private lessons in math, physics, and programming to both high school and college students. There is not one subject that I enjoy tutoring over others, as I am equally interested in all things. I practice patience and utmost respect with all my clients and strive to motivate, encourage, and support each student on their path to higher education. I am flexible in my teaching and quickly tailor my approach to the unique needs of my students. Outside of academia, I play music, read foreign books, study foreign languages, cook, and exercise.
