I graduated from West Chester University of PA in 2014 having received a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Physics. I am a software developer in Manhattan, but feel passionate about teaching. I hope to use tutoring as a stepping stone to one day continue my education in a PhD program to become a professor of computer science.I love math and programming, and hope to help students find their love for these two abstract fields. My philosophy is if I can understand how my student learns, I can help clarify the underlying principles and foundation of the most conceptually important details for a strong understanding in the field. My success is only determined by my student's success.

I am a retired math teacher who taught in the public school system for 38 years. I earned my Bachelors degree from Susquehanna University in mathematics and I earned my Masters Degree in education from West Chester University. My goal is to develop confidence in the students who struggle with mathematics and teach them strategies on how to approach a problem which they do not understand. I also want to empower my students with a variety of approaches on how to solve a problem. Mathematics has many rules which students need to know and be able to apply. Students need to learn the concepts because every problem is different.

I LOVE working with students! I recently finished my PhD at Cornell University in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cell Biology. I have spent the past 10+ years working with many different students in lots of different subjects including general and organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, MCAT test prept, SAT Chem Subject Test, and even general study and organizational skills! I have worked with high school students, undergraduates, pre-med students preparing for the MCAT, and adults who have gone back to school. I love science and I enjoy sharing that love of science with students. It really makes me happy watching students get excited about doing well in these subjects and helping them succeed towards their future goals.
