I have always been very passionate about learning. Growing up hiking and exploring, my fascination with the natural world was at the forefront of my educational goals. I was always curious about the mixed deciduous forest in my backyard or the rock quarries my friends and I went to on school breaks. I guess it makes sense then that I went on to study geology and biochemistry at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. While my desire to engage with the natural world persists, this past fall I began an MD/PhD program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska to achieve my dream of becoming a physician-scientist. With a rich history of working as a tutor and mentor for students from a variety of backgrounds, I am incredibly excited to dedicate myself to helping students amidst one of the greatest public health crises of our time. Hello! I am currently an undergraduate student at Carleton College working towards a double major in biology and statistics. My intellectual interests vary across many different subjects, but I am particularly fond of learning and teaching biology and statistics. In addition to STEM subjects, I have always harbored a love for learning new languages and especially enjoy learning and teaching Spanish. In addition to studying Spanish in school for 9 years, during high school, I took private conversation classes for Spanish with a native Spanish-speaking instructor to improve my fluency. Last summer, I had the opportunity to briefly study abroad at a Spanish school in Santiago, Chile, in a homestay program.In addition to periodically tutoring my younger brother during his school year, I currently serve as an algebra tutor for the tutoring hotline at my college. I graduated from Carleton College in the spring of 2020 with a degree in Political Science. For the past two years I've interned for a literary magazine called the Chicago Quarterly Review, considering story submissions and writing reader reports for the senior editor. Although currently living in Sag Harbor, I am in the process of applying to law school, with the goal of becoming either an attorney or a law professor.In my four years at Carleton, I tutored sixth graders in reading and math through the Northfield Tackling Obstacles and Raising College Hopes program (TORCH). I graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having majored in mathematics. Since then, I've worked for a number of health technology companies as a business analyst, usually helping to bridge the communications gap between programming staff and end users with clear documentation and presentations. I was also a theater nerd in high school and college, and (with my wife) developed and co-taught an elementary/middle school theater program for our neighborhood school. I've been a private tutor in mathematics for a number of years, working with local families on a handful of subjects, mostly pre-calculus and calculus. My favorite part of tutoring is helping my students to see that one little insight that can unlock the whole of the subject or lesson, and helping them pick the right tool or method to get a good answer.

I've always had a passion for teaching, but it originally started as a passion for learning. I am a sophomore, English and Computer Science double major at Carleton College who is ecstatic about teaching and spreading my love of learning.
