As a passionate music educator with a Bachelor's in Music Production from Full Sail University, I have over 2 years of teaching experience in Piano, Drums, and Bass. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a supportive and engaging environment where students can explore their creativity and develop their musical skills at their own pace. I believe that every student has unique potential, and I strive to connect with them individually to foster their love for music. My goal is to inspire confidence and joy in learning, helping students achieve their personal musical aspirations. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy composing music and exploring various genres, which enriches my teaching approach and keeps my lessons fresh and relevant.

It's been about 20 years since I've decided to become a storyteller. I'm a writer primarily, but I want to tell stories in many ways. I am now a published author, my first novel is in the process, and I have a Masters of Science Degree in Game Design. My passion is to create interactive stories, and while I'm here, I'll tutor anyone who would like to join me.
I am a graduate of Full Sail University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mobile Development. Since then, I have gained experience as a freelancer, developing apps in IOS and Android. Along my journey, I sometimes required assistance in fully grasping different concepts. My goal is to assist the next generation by providing the same level help that I received. My areas of focus include Programming, Technology, App Development, App Design, and Math
Growing up, kids like to pretend they're going to be doctors or professional athletes or astronauts. I wanted to be a teacher. I'm not even kidding - I had my own classroom in my garage where the neighborhood students came. This started in third grade and continued into middle school. I would find out what they knew, teach them a lesson, and then assign them homework. I would tell (tattle) their parents if they didn't do the work. My first parent/ teacher conferences were held at my neighbor's house in their living room. I assessed my friend Doug's progress in math, which was dreadful from what I remember, and gave pointers on how he could use flashcards to increase his fluency. And yes, I used the word fluency. I feel that my teaching philosophy can best be explained with an adage that I was introduced to in another position: Keep the student at the center of every decision you make. This guides my planning and instruction every single day. I remember that students are the reason I am here, and the "easy" approach for me may not be what is best for them. My aim is to make sure that my students understand the material, which requires me to assess mastery in a variety of manners. There is no one way to teach or assess a student, so, as a teacher, I cannot give up. I enjoy being innovative and spending my free time researching new technologies or approaches to a subject. It is my goal to always be a student of my field so I do not forget a student's mentality. Students should be able to also apply information from my class to their outside lives. It is my hope that they feel empowered after gaining skills in my course so that they can better their lives, as well as the world. My students do not just learn how to write; they learn how powerful writing can influence those in control. They see the power in words and want to use them rather than have to use them. Discussions take on a life of their own as I carefully poke at their logic to make them use their critical thinking skills. We do not just turn in a paper and move on - we use those same skills, but apply them in different ways all throughout the course. Language is life, and we need to learn control over it to succeed.
My favorite animator once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." And with that sentiment, I believe you can too! Sometimes it just takes a little push in the right direction to achieve our dreams, which is where I am. As your tutor, I am just as committed to your dreams as you are. Striving always to give you the encouraging push you need to make your dreams a reality.
Students, My name is Dion Hawley, and I'm here to help you succeed. In life, we all rely on the guidance and support of others. Just as many people have helped shape my path and career, I aim to do the same for you. I come from a background in education, as well as music video, television, and commercial production, and I'm here to support you in whatever way you need. I've had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and with some incredibly talented people, and along the way I've learned that everyone approaches learning differently. My goal is to meet you where you are and help make challenging concepts feel clear, manageable, and even enjoyable. For me, the real reward is seeing that moment when things click when you understand, feel confident, and are motivated to keep going. That's the win for both of us. I look forward to working with you.
I always believe in giving back to society. Sharing knowledge and experience with others has been something I have been committed to for quite a while and practice frequently. I tutor because I believe learning is a two way process in which we both walk away better than when we met.
I received my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Full Sail University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida.I have traveled extensively and have had the opportunity to teach English language (ESL/EFL) to kindergarten through middle school students in South Korea and here in Denver, Colorado. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Writing, and ESL/ELL.I believe that everyone is capable of achieving great things through education and that it's my job as an educator to help my students meet the goals they have set for themselves.
Learning is one of the most exciting things and I try to show students how much fun learning can be. I love working with students of all abilities and have helped several of my classmates through high school and college when they were struggling. Seeing the excitement on their faces when they "get it" is so rewarding for both teacher and student. I received my bachelor's degree in creative writing from Full Sail University. There I wrote flash fiction, short stories, TV scripts, game scripts, and transmedia campaigns. The subjects I tutor are English and composition. I love to write, and I love to pass that love on to students. As I said earlier, learning should be exciting and that is what I try to do when I tutor. I am laid back and will use several methods to ensure the student understands our lessons. Outside of tutoring, I love to read. Even as a child, if I earned a reward for something, I would choose to get a book. I also love to draw both by hand and computer aided. And I love spending time with my beagle, Harley. When I'm not working with students or on personal projects, I also enjoy playing video games.
Art, and technology studies have always been a part of my life; the former, as far back as when I was a teenager, and the later almost as late as college.very well into my professional career I've noticed that people with talents like mine, doesn't always have an opportunity to grow or express their gifts. Even into my college history I have discovered that many of the things I have learned, I did so much later in life than I would like.it made it no less satisfying to learn it, but I often wonder what development my path would have taken had I been exposed to these resources, skills, and educational opportunities earlier. It is because of that reason that remain plugged into educational avenues for learners like I was and do what I can to help their creative giant to grow, as early as possible.for the 13-year-old that became me, who used to draw comic book characters, transferred myself into many a Saturday morning cartoon, and can't wait to use the next tech tool to design something creative..and the learner destined to surpass him.
As an educator and creative professional, I am passionate about helping students grow as confident, capable learners. I believe that effective learning happens when students are empowered to think critically, express themselves clearly, and connect their education to real-life experiences. Whether a student is struggling with grammar or developing a full-length story, I find joy in guiding them toward meaningful progress and those rewarding "lightbulb" moments. My experience spans classroom instruction, one-on-one tutoring, and curriculum development in both academic and creative settings. I specialize in teaching College Writing (ENGL-102), Intro to Academic English (101), Novels and Short Fiction, Language Practicum, and Creative Writing for both high school and college students. These courses allow me to combine structure with creativity, helping students improve their analytical thinking while also finding their unique voice. I hold a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) with a concentration in creative writing, along with a bachelor's degree in a related field. My educational background blends theory and storytelling, which I use to help students better understand literature, write with purpose, and engage deeply with course content. Writing and creative expression are my favorite areas to teach because they open doors to self-discovery, communication, and critical thinking. My tutoring style is supportive, adaptable, and goal-oriented. I meet students where they are, build a plan that fits their needs, and adjust along the way to make sure they feel confident and challenged. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy indie filmmaking, developing TV series, and working on my first book. I also value family time and volunteering with nonprofits that support youth and the arts. These interests continually inspire my approach to education, creative, grounded, and purpose-driven.

I am a Recording Arts graduate from Full Sail University with a passion for all things music. I love exploring analysis and statistics, and understanding the "why" behind everything. My favorite subject to teach is Music Mixing, as it is a deep rabbit hole of both technical and creative ability. I believe teaching is about understanding the information, not just memorization of it. Outside of music, I also like to play games and exercise often.
Hi there! I'm Rajah-Nee, but feel free to call me Rue. I know it's much easier to pronounce.I've been tutoring since I was 14. In no way, shape, or form was I experienced or professional at the time, but I knew what was a hit and a miss and didn't shy away from conveying the positives and negatives to my students.Over the years, I perfected my teaching style, which involves discussion of concepts and mechanics in a concise and friendly manner. I use examples that most people can relate to (such as shopping) or have knowledge of (such as what a dog is and looks like), so that my students aren't confused or overwhelmed by things they don't know, which affects comprehension of the concepts.I am a tutor that puts the needs of my student first while also setting them up for success, so they will not run into similar obstacles in the future no matter the demands of the subject.

I am particularly passionate about subjects that allow students to explore diverse perspectives and express themselves creatively, with African American History, Reading, and Writing holding special places in my heart. These subjects not only open doors to crucial historical understanding but also develop critical thinking and communication skills that are essential for success in any endeavor. My tutoring style is patient, interactive, and engaging, designed to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience. I'm a seasoned educator with a passion for getting kids to become more empowered and confident writers and communicators. I've been in education for over 15 years. I love one-on-one tutoring because of the complete attention I can pay to student's specific needs and his or her learning style. My personality is encouraging, positive and patient, and that has served me well in building relationships with students. The primary role of a tutor is to walk students through roadblocks so that can master concepts without the pressures often present in the classroom. I can help tutees explore the potential of their ideas and how to own the skills they already possess. My role is also to help the tutee expand his or her knowledge base and tools for future writing and learn ways to drive their own learning.
I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, and creative educator with 22+ years of hands-on experience turning ideas into visuals that actually work. Design isn't just something I doit's how I see the world. It is also something I've been teaching for 20+ years. I bring a deep, practical knowledge of graphic design, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesignyou name it), illustration, 2-dimensional design, and foundational art principles into everything I teach. From typography and layout to color theory, composition, and visual storytelling, I love helping students understand not just the how, but the why behind great design. My approach is energetic, encouraging, and rooted in real-world experience. I've spent decades designing for brands, businesses, and creative projects of all kinds, so I know what it takes to move from classroom concepts to professional-level work. I'm big on experimentation, creative confidence, and learning how to push ideas further (while still meeting deadlinesbecause yes, that matters too). If you're excited to build strong design fundamentals, sharpen your creative voice, and learn from someone who genuinely loves this craft, you're in the right place. Let's create bold work, ask smart questions, and have a little fun along the way.
