I am a young engineer with experience in the aerospace and automotive industries. I am a graduate of Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. I have also worked previously in the education field teaching multiple subjects including math, science, and English from the elementary school level all the way to university students. I enjoy teaching most subjects but my favorite subjects to teach are any math or physics. From my experiences, I have developed a philosophy in that students learn best when they enjoy studying and are involved. So when possible, I try to approach teaching in a way that is not only informative but also interesting. I also try to guide students on the topics they struggle instead of just lecturing on principles and concepts as I feel that when students actively experience subjects, they are more likely to understand material and how to apply it. While I am not working, I enjoy traveling, playing sports (usually basketball), video gaming, and cooking.

I have a deep interest in both researching and teaching Economics, as well as other fields of study. I have been involved in teaching and research for the better part of a decade. I got my start tutoring Economics at the college level, and have been teaching in some capacity ever since. I'm a recent graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and majored in Mathematics during my college years. Currently, I'm a data scientist at a company. For work, I use statistics daily and it has become one of my strong suits. The majority of my work is technical, but I have to present these technical projects to none technical people. Thus, it has taught me a way to simplify and explain technical terms. Similarly, I can use this skill set to present complex math problems that can be understood by anyone and everyone.Since high school, I've been around tutoring centers and volunteered there to tutor SAT. From the volunteering experience, I gained a lot of understanding on working with high school students. I did a lot of SAT test prep with the students and corrected their mistakes on each incorrect math problem. Also, I have previous experience in tutoring from elementary to college math. For example, some of these sections include calculus, algebra, geometry, etc. When I took the SAT back in high school, I got a perfect score in the math section and on the math II subject test as well. In turn, I am confident that I can tutor students of all grade levels and of various math skillset. For college students specifically, I have a great study plan that can help them with improving their grades and understand the math concepts that are taught in class. This plan got me through the rigorous courses of my own years at GT, so I am confident in its implementation. I am currently also studying to take the GMAT, and it has been a great refresher on the different math subjects that I have learned throughout the years. I recently retired from a 37-year career in aerospace at Lockheed Martin. I was an engineer and have an Electrical Engineering Degree from Georgia Tech. Many years ago, when I was a student in high school and college my favorite subject was math. The main reason I enjoyed math so much was because my father was also an engineer (Graduate of the Coast Guard Academy) and very passionate about math, and he spent a lot of time with me solving math problems. He made math seem fun! During my career at Lockheed Martin, I always enjoyed mentoring and training new hires. Over the years, I've found that I enjoy teaching and I have a lot of patience explaining technical concepts. I have been complimented many times by my former colleagues about my excellent teaching skills. Hi, I'm Harsit! I recently graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Math and I'm heading back for a Master's combining math, computer science, and finance. Math wasn't always easy for me, especially in high school, but I've learned that the satisfaction of finally understanding a concept outweighs the frustration of not knowing where to start. I focus on breaking problems into clear, repeatable steps so they feel less overwhelming. I've also taught coding for two summers, so I have real experience explaining tricky ideas patiently and in more than one way.

I am highly qualified to teach Physics and Chemistry and I have over 8 years' experience teaching Physics (AP curriculum), Chemistry and AP Chemistry. I also have experience teaching at the community college level and I currently teach an online physics class. I have a Master of Science degree in Medical Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology.My approach to tutoring is to ask the student questions, work through actual problems and then determine if there are more basic concepts that need to be covered. Many times, a student will have trouble with advanced concepts because he or she has not fully mastered a previous, simpler concept. Science, like math, builds upon itself, so a concept missed early in the year can cause problems throughout the rest of the year if it is not addressed. I can explain problems from various angles to incorporate the learning style of student. I also have many memory aids that can help a student to be able to keep information straight. Most of all, I am patient and don't mind covering information multiple times because the goal is to really understand the material, not to learn it in as little time as possible.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky in 2007 and my Master's of Science in Chemistry from Georgia Tech in 2010. Following graduation, I worked as a chemistry professor for 3 1/2 years at Gordon State College teaching General College Chemistry I & II (chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and physical chemistry) and Organic Chemistry I & II. For the first two years that I was a chemistry instructor I was the youngest faculty member on campus and my classes would always be among the first to fill up. In my classroom, my colleagues would describe me as being the goofiest person in the room but it was something that I found necessary to connect with my students. Being a younger professor I remember what it was like to be a student and I remember the things that truly got my attention. I would teach my classes using superheroes, football references, mythbusters, and even relate some material to the school bus. In my office hours, I would be able to find out what interested the students and come up with an example that they would be able to understand. In the sciences, I believe learning should be as much hands on as possible and I used a variety of outside resources to teach various concepts, whether it would be using balloons, dry ice, tennis balls and paper wads, or even LIGHTING WATER ON FIRE. In addition to all of the chemistry subjects (up to a graduate level), I am qualified to teach physics, algebras 1-4, geometry, pre-calculus, and can do SAT and ACT math prep.Outside of the classroom I enjoy watching football and college basketball, going to broadway shows like the Book of Mormon, Wicked, and Monty Python's Spamalot, and going to comic book conventions. After experiencing DragonCon while living in the Atlanta area, there is nothing more fun than watching people dress up in Halloween costumes when it's not Halloween.
