I am also very strong in mathematics, and have worked with students to improve their math skills. As a recent graduate, I am incredibly familiar with the common struggles of students. I am a graduate of Mercer University. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and minor in Criminal Justice. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, which pushed me to pursue my Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Global Business. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Affairs from Mercer University in May of 2013. I then went on to receive my Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University in May 2017. At the moment, I am not working towards earning another degree.I tutored Spanish after receiving my degree in Spanish and before receiving my law degree. Also, I was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher during undergraduate school.Beginning Spanish and ESL are my only tutoring subjects. I love tutoring Spanish because it is a beautiful language with a vibrant culture. Practically speaking I tutor Spanish because in today's world it is beneficial to be bilingual. Which is why I also enjoy teaching ESL. Another reason I enjoy teaching ESL is it increases my tutoring capabilities of Spanish.I would describe my tutoring style as personal. When I was a student, my best teachers were the ones who listened to their students needs and taught us in the most helpful manner possible.Outside of work, I enjoy listening to live music, pretty much any kind of live music. I love reading supernatural, sarcastic, and historical books. And I absolutely love movies. I am a big fan of all the superhero movies and shows coming out as of late. But my favorite thing to do has to be exploring the city with my friends.

I have always lived by the Golden Rule, to treat everyone the way you want to be treated. This is not a difficult task for me to support. I have always had a mindset of equality and fairness. My exposure to various races and ethnicities has always taught me to do right by others. This is no different than how I manage my classroom or conduct me anywhere I may find myself. This is important that everyone is cordial and respectful to one another. Holding this rule in mind makes me a better educator and an all-around better human being.I absolutely love making sure each student that I encounter, whether individually or in a group setting, understands the concept that there can be "fun in learning".I have taught English in all sectors - middle school, high, and even college-level courses. I love to read and write, and all that goes along with those concepts. I adore bringing English to life - especially since a few other disciplines think that English (language as a whole) is not a critical subject - and this is why I am so enamored with teaching this subject."Without English Language Arts, where would we be?"

I am passionate about helping students because I believe that they are not only our future but they deserve to be the best they can without limitations. My experience working with students has been being a substitute teacher on and off for the past year and a half and homeschooling my children for three years. I have faced numerous challenges with them and learned a lot in how to accommodate their learning needs both being Autistic and having combined ADHD. I have been with Varsity Tutors for the past 2 years and love working with a multitude of different students while watching them grow! I received my Bachelor of Science degree in 2023 from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia with a background in Early Childhood/Special Education and finished off in Mental Health. I enjoy teaching ELA especially to K-5 because these are the most important years to develop critical skills needed to succeed in the future. I believe that in order to help a child learn more effectively that it is important to make the lessons relatable. Helping students empathize with characters, places and concepts, especially when those things are different from their own life experiences improves their ability to comprehend the material. In addition, I feel that allowing children to utilize their imaginations through writing and drawings inhibits growth mindset which if vital for development. When children are engaged, they are more willing to learn. I cannot wait to start working with you and watching you grow while becoming more confident in yourself!

I've worked as teacher at the collegiate level for close to ten years. In that time, I've worked with many, many students of varying skill levels and ages. I've learned that success has much more to do with discipline and focus than it does god-given talent. Writing is a process with its own rules-rules that all students can learn with patience. It's important to remember, though, that the craft of writing is also about adaptation and improvisation. These are all virtues I regard highly and look to instill them in my students whenever possible.

I got my bachelors in mathematics form Columbus State University and am currently getting my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Mercer University. I have been a private tutor for the past six years, and I worked as a tutor for my university for 4 and a half years. While I was there, I was part of starting a new program to help students that tested into prealgebra classes. After graduation, I worked as an assistant center director at a Mathnasium for about 8 months, until graduate school led to a time conflict. I tutor almost every type of high school or college math, from algebra to Calculus and differential equations, but I have worked with students as young as first grade, which allows me to help students when they are struggling with concepts that are needed in order to work on their current subject. I love tutoring all types of math. I think that everyone can learn math, and that the key is to get to know the students learning style and to explain concepts in the way that makes the most sense to them. You can tutor five different students over the exact same concept, and each session will be different because how I teach depends on the student. I am an all around nerd, so I love puzzles and reading and things like that. I also love crafting as well as wood working and painting.
