While I was there, I was part of starting a new program to help students that tested into prealgebra classes. After graduation, I worked as an assistant center director at a Mathnasium for about 8 months, until graduate school led to a time conflict. I tutor almost every type of high school or college math, from algebra to Calculus and differential equations, but I have worked with students as young as first grade, which allows me to help students when they are struggling with concepts that are needed in order to work on their current subject. I think that everyone can learn math, and that the key is to get to know the students learning style and to explain concepts in the way that makes the most sense to them. You can tutor five different students over the exact same concept, and each session will be different because how I teach depends on the student.
