I am currently an undergraduate student at University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and minor in Marketing. I have worked with students and tutored them in STEM subjects such as mathematics and science, and I have also helped students with history projects and essays. My favorite subject to tutor is science because I am able to use simple real-world examples to explain more complex topics, which allows for me to create a more engaging experience for the students and connect with them as well. I believe that there is no greater power than knowledge and your ability to apply yourself using vast information that is learnt either from school or experiences. I am a current Ph.D student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I received my bachelors of science in Mathematics with honors from Union College. While in undergrad, I spent all four years working as a course assistant, aiding professors with grading and coursework. I also volunteered with Girls Inc all four years, tutoring students in grades 1-5 in a range of topics, but mostly math. During the summers, I worked with the academic outreach program, as an RA and a tutor for students going into their first year at Union College. Now as a Ph.D student, I have spent two years as a TA for undergraduate students, mostly working in calculus based courses. I find tutoring an incredibly rewarding process; fostering a students growth, working closely with a few students, and really breaking through educational barriers that are difficult to tackle in a large classroom setting.

I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Dallas (whoosh) and most recently, Louisiana State University (geaux tigers). At UTD, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on geriatric disorders and my Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology with a focus on feeding and swallowing disorders. At LSU, I received my Master of Arts in Communication Disorders with a concentration and thesis on feeding and swallowing disorders within the pediatric population, in particular premature babies. During my time at both LSU and UTD, I tutored in various capacities. I was a teaching assistant for a Statistics class for 5 semesters at UTD. At LSU, I tutored student athletes for 15 months in various subjects. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math. In my experience helping students (elementary-college), Math always seems to be a subject where students have a mental block. It is always a pleasure to get through that block and break (seemingly) complex problems into their parts and then watch the student work through the problem on their own.
