Teaching and tutoring are my passions. I take them seriously, keep up with recent research, and am constantly looking for ways to help students interpret material they may be struggling with. I am currently seeking Teacher Certification so I can pursue my career goal of making Latin and Grammar accessible and relevant to modern students. That being the case, my primary focus is Latin tutoring, though my extensive experience with academic writing/reading and the research I have conducted in French enable me to offer help in those areas as well. My concentration in linguistics has often helped me show students ways to connect with language and writing that fit their own experiences. For students struggling with Latin, I offer help with paradigm memorization & I offer guidance and practice reading Latin. I am happy to supplement studies with outside readings to help with fluency and accuracy. If you or your student is struggling with Writing or Grammar, I will help you find an effective way to work with and understand Formal English. If you need help with elementary French, I am happy to discuss grammar and practice pronunciation with you.

Hi! My name is Justine. I am a fourth year medical student getting ready to enter general surgery residency at NYU Brooklyn. I know how difficult medical school is and what it takes to make the grades. After years of my own academic pursuits, I have developed a passion for helping others, both in and outside of the classroom. Studying medicine takes a different set of skills which I have developed, perfected and more than willing to teach others. With over 30 residency interviews and ranked #2 in my graduating class, my learning technique has proved successful. I am an avid learner and can adapt my teaching style to any student willing to put in the time and effort. I look forward to working with you!
I first became interested in tutoring when my college hinted at removing my area of study (East Asian Studies and Chinese). The number of students who major in this field and study Chinese language are relatively small however I think language studies are immensely important. Studying Chinese language is my passion so I always try to encourage other students to continue with it. Learning a language can be challenging but I've found it the most rewarding. I take great pride in how far I've come with Chinese and love seeing excitement for languages in others. My goal is to encourage other students to pursue or continue pursuing languages and share with them the knowledge and learning methods I've acquired during my studies.
I am a graduate from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. I received my degrees in Psychology, Spanish, and Neuroscience. I have spent my time since college mentoring, tutoring, and promoting healthy lifestyles for high school students. I have enjoyed helping all age groups learn - from kids, to college students, to adults. I tutor a wide variety of subjects including math, Spanish, ESL, and test prep. I really enjoy tutoring geometry and algebra or SAT prep. My tutoring strengths include finding multiple ways to explain things for my students and giving real value to the learning process so that information can be retained. Outside of the academic world, I love to listen to and make music. I play volleyball, rugby, and soccer in my free time.

As the first in my family to attend college, and then the only member to pursue graduate education, I know just how transformative my educational experiences have been. Such has encouraged me to enable the transformation of others via my mentoring, tutoring, and public speaking engagements.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English Literature with a focus on 20th and 21st century British fiction. I also hold a B.A. and M.A. in English. While pursuing my own passion for education, I have found a secondary passion in helping students find their voice in their writing. I love working one-on-one with students to help them develop their own interests and skills while achieving their personal education goals. I have had success tutoring students on a variety of reading and writing assignments, particularly for their English classes and in preparation for standardized tests. In addition to my work in literature, I enjoy traveling to new places, watching action and adventure movies, and cooking meals for family and friends.

Having recently graduated with my Bachelors in Mathematics, I understand the struggles and frustrations that the subject can bring. I shall to my best to help make those struggles more manageable.
I am a 2015 graduate of Ursinus College, from where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics with minors in Statistics, Computer Science, and Secondary Education. I have taught all grades 7-12 during stints at Spring-Ford Area SD (student teaching), Stetson Middle School in the West Chester Area SD, and Great Valley High School. While I love being in the classroom and having 20 or so students at a time, I have found that the opportunity to work with students one on one is a very rewarding experience. Tutoring is a great opportunity for the tutor and student because the student's needs can be better addressed since the student is the sole focus of tutoring sessions. I feel that my experience studying the field of education and teaching allow me to understand where other teachers are coming from, in addition to knowledge and practice of my own education strategies, which allows me to provide the best possible help for a student. Many students who are struggling with math are actually struggling with their math confidence or math motivation. Unfortunately, the way math has been taught in our country has lead to math becoming this scary monster for a lot of students, rather than the fun tool that it truly is. Because of this, I not only work to help students with particular mathematical concepts but also to build their confidence in math. I believe that every student is capable of succeeding, and it is important that they believe that too.
I am a recent graduate from Ursinus College with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Statistics. I have experience teaching through Sunday school for 8 years with children of varying ages. I am very passionate about math and find that the key to not only exceeding in it, but to also enjoy it is to have a strong basic understanding, because it all grows from there. I believe that sometimes it takes patience and a few explanations and examples to understand new topics. In my experience practice is also a key component to getting the subject fully grasped so by getting more hands on time with problems and numbers is the way to learn it. In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball, doing yoga, and crafting!
