I've been helping students and friends to edit and revise their writing across multiple styles for seven years. Throughout high school, I was part of an exclusive magnet school for creative writing called the Educational Center for the Arts: in the mornings I took core classes (math, science, history, etc) at a public high school, and in the afternoons I attended college-level workshops in fiction, screenplay, memoir, humor, and poetry. There, I learned from published writers and edited fellow students' pieces, including college essays, for four years while developing my own work.In college, I became the opinion section editor of my student newspaper. Last year, I served as its editor in chief. At The Justice, I've applied the skills I learned from creative writing to journalism and op-ed content. I already had experience clarifying sentences, helping writers develop a unique written voice, and keeping writing concise and precise, but through The Justice I learned how to find and support a strong argument, recognize logical fallacies in one's own thinking as well as in others, and conduct thorough, accurate and credible research. I am a sophomore at Brandeis University working towards a combined B.A./M.A. in mathematics and a B.S. in physics. I specialize in mathematics as it is my favorite subject to both learn about and to teach others. I am currently a PhD student in high energy theoretical physics at New York University, with research interests in quantum gravity and holography. Throughout my time at Brandeis and NYU, I have been a teaching assistant for various physics courses, ranging from introductory physics for pre-medical students to quantum mechanics and general relativity. My teaching experience so far has been a mix of in-person and online, leading recitation sections, classes, and study sessions. I have a particular fondness for teaching introductory physics courses, since I've always hated hearing people say "I hated physics in high school" or "you have to be a genius to study physics", the latter of which is certainly not true (trust me). I think, when done properly, teaching physics to students for the first time can be unbelievably rewarding. I love giving students a better understanding of the world around them, and helping them to appreciate all the science behind the technologies they use daily. I have also helped my students in the past with reviewing calculus, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and other more advanced areas of mathematics as they appear in physics. From having taught and tutored mathematics and physics in the past, I have found that solving problems is absolutely essential to learning the material. So, during tutoring sessions I dedicate a substantial amount of time to solving problems based around the material covered. Physics and mathematics lectures tend to lean more theoretical in nature, so I believe that tutoring should serve as a practical supplement to the otherwise dense and theoretical lectures. Of course, I also see the value in having theoretical-style lectures, and enjoy teaching those. However, especially for students who are just beginning to learn physics and mathematics, seeing many MANY worked examples is crucial to internalizing the material. Moreover, having these tutoring sessions be interactive, where I can ask the students questions and they can ask me questions, seems to intellectually stimulate students far more than if I were just talking to them. Outside of academia, I enjoy exercise, training jiu jitsu and muay thai, reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family. As of late, my reading mostly consists of Christian theology (Thomas Aquinas and the various Ancient Church Fathers) and 20th century history.

This experience ignited my passion for optometry, leading me to pursue a career as an eye doctor.Alongside my commitment to optometry, I have a strong passion for teaching. I teach a variety of subjects, including biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and the OAT/DAT admissions test. As an organic chemistry teaching assistant, I emphasized pattern recognition and effective study techniques, earning awards and recognition for my teaching methods. I believe that failure only occurs when one stops trying, so I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and thinking creatively.I am excited to continue tutoring as I continue my journey to Optometry School at New England College of Optometry.

I am Peter Agaba a recent masters graduate in Finance and Economics from Brandeis University Waltham. I also have bachelors and masters degrees in Mathematics. I love teaching especially Mathematics classes. In the past, I taught college Algebra and trigonometry at Western Kentucky University. I love meeting new people and learning from them. I am as well passionate about teaching. The fun fact about me is that I ran track and cross country for D1 college. In my free time, I like reading finance news or sometimes I do spend time coding and analyzing data.

I have been tutoring for seven years, and from my experience, I have learned that you can truly get students to love subjects if you can break them down and explain them simply. My favourite part of tutoring students is when they come to me after a few weeks of math lessons and tell me that, suddenly, math in school isn't so boring and difficult anymore, and that they are really starting to enjoy their classes in school. I love tutoring math, and have spent the most time there, but also enjoy teaching biology, chemistry, and environmental science, as I have taken all the AP versions of those classes and am currently pursuing a degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics.

I am a graduate of Brandeis University with a BA in Computer Science and a Security+ certification from CompTIA. I offer tutoring in high school math, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. My goal is to become a high school math teacher.While math can be a challenging subject, it can also be deeply rewarding. Math has countless applications in fields ranging from finance, engineering, science, health, technology/computation, data analysis, AI, economics, and many more areas. I firmly believe that with enough practice students can improve their grades and understanding of math.Math is best understood by doing. Once a concept is explained and demonstrated, students should then try to solve problems to see if they understand the ideas involved or if they need to spend some more time on the material before advancing to the next concept.
