I am most passionate about the history of the U.S. since 1945, but as I am sure most of my students will attest, I truly do find the history of any nation or time period fascinating. I also enjoy teaching and tutoring for the SATs and other standardized exams, in part because I believe that any student can improve once he or she knows how to study, and most importantly, how to build the endurance to take a standardized test as lengthy as the SAT. I approach the SATs much in the same way that I approach running – if unit tests in school are one-mile warm-ups, then the SAT is a marathon. With the right training (and dedication), I firmly believe that any student can improve. I have taught SAT prep classes in a variety of capacities. I worked for a major SAT prep company while in graduate school, and also piloted my district’s SAT prep course (which I designed the curricula for). My tutoring sessions will give students the practice and understanding needed to excel in their coursework. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing tennis, cooking, catching up on new TV shows, and spending time with my family!

I am a graduate from Georgetown University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in Music. I'm currently pursuing a Master's of Science in Business Analytics at Carnegie Mellon University. I've been tutoring since I started high school, focusing on mathematics and writing. Throughout my college career I was employed both privately and by Georgetown University to tutor peers and high school students in the Washington, D.C. area. I worked with students taking classes in all levels of mathematics falling under Algebra, Calculus, Combinatorics, and Problem Solving.I've always been passionate about mathematics. With a strong academic background in English and writing, I communicate abstract mathematical ideas in a way that is best suited to each of my students' needs. At some point in the (hopefully) near future, I'd like to go to back to school in order to then work full-time as a college professor of mathematics.Aside from academics, I'm passionate about music and soccer. I've been a guitarist for most of my life, and am eager to pick up and learn about any instrument I can get my hands on. I've also played soccer for about as long as I can remember. Most recently, I play in pickup leagues around Pittsburgh. I've been preparing students to take GMAT and GRE exams for over 4 years. I work best with students who are looking for intense preparation and can commit to at least 2 hours a day of work. I create a structured curriculum tailored to each individual student. I've always enjoyed coaching students to take tests, because I can help them realize how to find patterns, crack codes and see the whole structure behind the puzzle. Getting better at tests is like any other sport. You have to train better, become efficient, increase confidence and develop basic skills that sharpen your thinking.
