When I began teaching five years ago, I absolutely fell in love with the process of instructing and learning. This passion grew and has taken to me different parts of the world so that I may become an effective teacher/tutor.I received my undergraduate degree in illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design and am currently working on my master's degree in art history and visual culture from Lindenwood University. After, I will pursue my PhD in art history so that I may teach at a collegiate level. The subjects I offer are visual art and art history. My favorite to teach/tutor is art history because it's essentially story telling and puzzle solving! I believe teaching and tutoring these subjects should be a fun conversation--a way to swap ideas and stories that make the learning process a lot more relaxed rather than being a one way street of a teacher just talking at you instead of with you. I love teaching and strongly believe education enriches our lives in more ways than one, a concept that I try to pass on to all of my students!

I find it incredibly fulfilling to support individuals as they pursue their education and personal growth. I enjoy engaging with my students to understand their emotions and identify the resources they require to progress in their careers. Having experienced uncertainty and concern numerous times in my own life, I have accumulated significant expertise in securing grants and scholarships, as well as in various forms of visual arts. My journey began as a young mother, teaching my own children while pursuing photography and painting during my spare time. Once my kids started school, I enrolled in online courses and obtained my first two degrees from Penn State University: a BA in Painting and Drawing and a BS in Art Education. Throughout my studies, I discovered that many people give up on their artistic abilities at a very young age, often around 10-12 years old, convinced that they lack talent. This realization motivated me to intervene and prevent children from abandoning their artistic aspirations. That decision led me to pursue a career in teaching 20 years ago. I have taught individuals of all ages, from Pre-K to 67 years old, in various visual arts disciplines. In 2011, I completed a master's degree in interdisciplinary learning (Arts & Academic) and assumed the role of a teacher mentor. Subsequently, in 2020, I earned a Master of Fine Art in Photography. My teaching experience encompasses university-level courses in Art History, Photography, Drawing/Painting, Sculpture, Art Appreciation, Digital Design, and Computer Graphics. While I currently instruct middle school students in Digital Design, Photography, and Studio Art at a specialized arts school, I also hold adjunct professor roles teaching Photography and Computer Graphics. I offer tutoring in all visual arts disciplines and am eager to assist students at any stage of their artistic journey. My teaching philosophy revolves around the belief that, drawing from my life experiences and educational background, I can establish connections with any student and identify common ground. I have lived across various economic strata, from poverty to upper-middle class, resided in diverse locations, and interacted with individuals from various ethnicities, as well as members of the LGBTQI community, and individuals with a wide range of special needs, including ADHD and Autism Spectrum disorders.
Rebekah Hartwig is currently a student pursuing 3D Character Animation. In the past, Hartwig had been developing her technical skills in mostly traditional art. Ultimately she decided that she wanted to follow the path in storytelling which led her into pursuing an animation degree. In the future she hopes to show the beauty of this world and to reflect the joys and wonder of life into her animations and encourage the audience to see the beauty in their own lives.
I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2011 with a degree in Media Communication Technology and a Minor in English. My education at ESU taught me about various levels of video production as well as some web design and basic coding, photography and photo editing, and writing creative nonfiction and fiction. At the Savannah College of Art & Design I earned my Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television, where I specialised in cinematography skills as well as writing for the screen. I've been working with other students since I was a student myself! At SCAD, I was a Teacher's Assistant for the Steadicam Class, so I helped co-instruct the students on proper technique utilizing specialised camera gear. I also worked on the side as a developmental script editor, giving notes to students on their screenplays before they moved on to their thesis films or submitting their work to festivals and competitions. Outside of school I've found a number of ways to teach. That includes being a guest speaker at networking events, leading discussions on the industry I primarily work in (the film industry). That also includes teaching in-person workshops at my local library in the Dekalb Library System. As far as my tutoring technique is concerned, I like to ask a student where they stand currently on a subject, and build towards better understanding of that subject so they can succeed. Sometimes that requires reviewing the basics so we can make sure there is a strong foundation to build upon. Outside of academia, I enjoy watching movies, playing video games, as well as going hiking and kayaking!

I am a people person, and I enjoy helping and being of assistance. I have a lot of patience, and am very creative. I find that people of all ages struggle with some sort of learning curve. Finding what works for each person individually is how to teach. Everyone learns differently. Some people are great listeners and do great with dictation, while some need to be hands on, and some people also just are visual learners. Understanding the person you are helping, and learning a little bit about them helps and goes a long way.
I am an easy-going Atlanta artist and writer with a passion for teaching and helping people become the best versions of themselves they can be. Hi! I am Rhonda. I graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts in 2008 from Savannah College of Art and Design. Since then, I have navigated the world as a free-thinker, traveling to Europe and Asia to take advantage of cross-cultural opportunities that expand my mind. Most recently, I spent 2018-2021 teaching English abroad in South Korea. I learned a lot about being a teacher at that time, mainly that I have a passion for teaching and learning alike. What I love most about teaching is the students! I love when my students smile, but most of all, I like when they have fun during my lessons. I have a passion for the English language to the very articulated point of counting out exact change with words by being succinct. From what I've seen, communication is easiest to misunderstand when spoken. It is important to me, that students are encouraged through positive reinforcement, especially if they are frustrated with homework! As for me, personally, in my spare time, I enjoy blogging, reading, creative writing and creating digital art.
Hello! I'm a educator and visual artist with many years of experience teaching and tutoring high school and college students. I have a BA in Political Science from New College of Florida and a MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I'm a photographer by trade, I also have a passion for and expertise in Math and the Natural Sciences -- as well as French and Spanish, having studied and worked in both Paris and Central America. While I'm proficient now, I struggled with both languages early on, and understand the challenges of both starting a new language and in moving from a conversational to a more proficient level. I'm also available for ACT and SAT test prep -- and work especially well with students who are visual learners (though I have a wide range of materials and resources for all styles of learning!).
I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts from The Savannah College of Art and Design. I have 10 years of experience performing in theater, film and theme parks. I have tutored and trained people in several areas and fields of study over the past few years. On this platform, I'm focusing on subjects such as Acting for all levels, performing Shakespeare, audition prep, scene and character analysis, improv, public speaking and Spanish. Performing Shakespeare is my favorite subject to tutor- and to talk about- because it is incredibly fun and beneficial as an actor, as it creates a strong foundation of skill for other types and styles of acting. My teaching philosophy is transformed around the learning style of the student. Everybody learns different and I love to analyze the best way to create a learning environment for an individual, making it a mutual learning experience. I treat my lessons and classes as a continuous rehearsal, where we trust results come if we stand in a place of exploration and play. When I'm not teaching or acting, I am caring for my houseplants, re-decorating my home, playing with my rabbit or just walking around the city trying to find my next adventure.

Education has always been an important foundation upon which I build my goals and dreams. Without education, I would not be able to achieve my greatest ambition, to assist the youth to develop their fullest potential. Throughout my life, I have always been optimistic and dedicated to my studies. I've always maintained a B average. I knew I had to work hard so that I can be the change that my family wasn't, to receive a higher education. I was determined to attend college and receive scholarships, and that is what I did.As an undergraduate, I immersed myself in the resources at Claflin University especially in its Freshman College. As a result, I mentored and tutored freshmen students and became a visionary leader on campus. It was then that I knew my purpose was greater than being a Journalist. In undergrad, I have maintained an A average in my English courses and was recognized by several professors for my achievements. After graduating from undergrad and attending graduate school, my love and passion for helping the youth expanded, which led me to become a substitute teacher, in which I managed while being a full-time student. It wasn't until I became a Program Assistant for SCAD's summer program, that I realized that my hard work and dedication affected the youth in whom I've worked with. I've motivated, inspired and changed so many young people lives which exceeded my expectations.I have years of experience of learning and teaching, to be a better me, so that I can motivate and inspire the youth to be a better them. My discipline has allowed me to receive a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication and a Master of Arts Degree in Film and Television Production. Education has always been a priority in my life and when an opportunity approaches me, I always do my best to provide the best learning experience.

I tried a lot of different genres of photography--fashion, music, event, headshot, commercial, food--to finally realize what I am supposed to focus on in photography, teaching & art.My personal mission: Promote creativity and confidence through photography as a process and art form. It starts with learning the basics of the camera, exposure, and composition. I would love to see you in class.

As an educator, I understand the challenges of feeling behind in a topic and the embarrassment of struggling in class. My goal is to build students' confidence and encourage them to contribute during classroom discussions. When students grasp complex subjects, their attitude toward learning transforms, and they gain a deeper, more meaningful connection to the material. I aim to teach foundational concepts in a way that students can apply them to real-world scenarios. Throughout my educational journey, I realized that every student learns differently, and teachers should meet students where they are. I am passionate about teaching elementary and middle school students, and high school regular courses. While I specialize in mathematical comprehension, I also have a deep love for Literature and History.
